Pre-workout Supplement and family history of heart problems

I am wanting to take a pre-workout, but the only thing holding me back is that both sides of my family has a history of heart problems. I am in good health, and my all my blood work tests came out good. I do not have any blood pressure problems either. Is there any pre-workouts I could take and any I should stay away from? I am looking for one that would have the least amount of harmful effects on the heart.

    Thanks in advance.

i would stay away from most marketed pre-workout supplements as a lot of them are full of random ingredients that have yet to be "proven" effective. that is my $0.02 at least...

around here, caffeine generally tends to be the most common. many people have taken between 100-1000mg. you will also become less sensitive to it the more you use it. ask your doctor if you should be restricted on caffeine.

    beta-alanine is also very popular

Would stimulant free pre workouts be good to consider?

Absolute LOL. You do realise that pre workout Supps are stimulants? Why do you want to take a pre-workout?

I wouldn't bet my life on asking us this question. Ask your doctor about your sensitivity to stimulants and vaso-constrictors.

i still don't think they are necessary OP. if anything, check with your doctor about caffeine and just have a cup of coffee before training.

Totalis is a pretty good pre-workout without the added junk, everything can be checked through research to show it works

This, 100%. Don't waste your money. If you want some kind of stimulants, coffee is the best route.

All I use preworkout are creatine and beta-alanine.

Do you really need more energy for the gym? Work on endurance training for a bit. Sleep more... pre-workouts are a cop out.

On Sundays I play basketball in the morning and then I have powerlifting in the afternoon. By then I am exhausted and was looking for boost then. All other days I feel fine.
