Question for the PL family.
My squats have gotten way better since I learned a belt. My deads feel off when I add in the belt. In the long run would it be better to learn to pull with a belt even though in the short term I would have settle for lighter singles for a while?

Once upon a time, I made the decision to quit my job, and thought I had enough savings for the same sort of timeframe. I did eventually find another job, but not before I had lost 12k. I know you're an engineer, so you'll probably get scooped up rather quickly, but I wouldn't risk it.

I can't see myself settling here and my original plan was not to stay here permanently anyways. It was the only job offer I got, so I figured I would take it and gain some experience and make money so my dad wouldn't have to pay for my stuff anymore. I like small cities, but I don't think Tulsa or religious towns are really for me. I think I would waste away my 20s if I stayed here. Also, my parents didn't like the idea of me taking this job from the start. For one, they want me to be near home so they can see me. Basically all my aunts, uncles, cousins, and rest of my family live in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale and see each other constantly. Also, they are not a fan of me making stuff for the military that is going to go out and kill people. And like I said before, engineering hasn't interested me that much for a few years now and I would like to find something else that I can turn into a career or atleast something fun that wouldn't drive me crazy. Like if I find a job in Boca Raton, Stig and I can open a gym together which seems like fun. And if that doesn't happen, my friend is a professor at FAU and is buying a bunch of powerlifting equipment for research and hopefully a powerlifting team. So even if I'm not so happy at work, I would have a bunch of friends to hang out with, a team to train with, and parents could come see me whenever.

Well I can't go into their mind to know for sure, so I'm only going based on what I see. There is a lady at my job here that works in the purchasing department and has been with the company for 20-25 years. She is always super happy and super nice coming to ask me how I like Tulsa and my job. In the 5 months that I have been here, I have never seen her sad, mad or miss a day at work.
I would also say my dad is one of those people. I've asked him several times why he doesn't cut down on the amount of work he takes on or days he works since it is no longer necessary. He works 7 days a week. But he says he enjoys the challenges of work and that he would have nothing to do if he were at home. He doesn't watch TV, he doesn't watch movies, he doesn't really listen to music. Really, his only hobby outside of work is the stock market. So it's go to work, meet new people, and get the fulfillment of fixing their problems or sit in front of a computer all day and watch numbers move.1372 @ 205
