I refuse to believe that all of them are personal trainers with certifications, so are they just sort of winging things and not caring?
1. I am not certified, wish i was but the money required is spent on things like paying bills, buying food etc right now.
2. I get people asking me to do diets for them on ********... and have had people donate money for them, but never have I ever not one time charged anyone out right.
it just seems that on the interwebs now everyone is a consultant, online fitness coach etc.
what is the real professional take on this?

My take is that there are a lot of stupid people out there who will follow advice given by someone who obviously have no qualifications to give it but they look good in a bathing suit. It applies to strength training, nutrition advice, and many other things.
I have many women on my ******** who do "online training" and charge stupid people $150 a month for "diet plans" and "workout programs" that they copy and paste and give to everyone. They will say that they care about their clients but they really only care about their money.

Nutrition plans are a tricky subject. My professional code of ethics for my CPT states that I don't write ANY plans for peoples nutrition. I can give them helpful tips and sometimes I will hand out some guidelines, but mostly I just try to talk with clients and keep them educated on common sense nutrition. ONLY a RD can write nutritional plans. Period. If someone says they're a trainer or has a nutritional specialization, I still call BS, and I am a trainer myself. Desperate people do desperate things though, everyones looking for that magic pill.

Lots of trainer write plans without being qualified. lots of people who look fit write plans without being a trainer. its all BS.
Iv seen girls compete in sports model comps once, then go and call themselves a coach. rewrite up what there coach gave them and give it to there new coaching clients. then there clients become coaches to. They all just copy eachother. charge a bucket load and its your typical oats for brekky, eat every 3 hours, chicken and broccoli chicken and brocoliangpt
