    Resistance bands

Ibe been think about using bands for squating and maybe benching. I squat 350 and bench 225 1rm, should I bring my numbers up before I even think about using bands? I was thinkin about getting efs pro stong bands is this to much. Also what should I decrease the weight to, to be able to lock out?
    Thanks in advance!

I didn't specify why I want to use them, but I want to get stronger and faster for athletics. I've been on WS4SB for about 8 months now, and I have greatly improved in all of my lifts and on field performance.

Bands helped my bench considerably during the summer and fall. The thing that you have to remember with bands is, is that the are much rougher on you then chains and just free weight. I liked how much my bench was progressing that I began to use bands 1 to 2 times a week over a 3 to 4 month period. Yes my bench went up to 450lbs in the gym but now I have a shoulder (anterior delt) issue and it starts to hurt at 315. I know that was my stupidity, but I found out the hard way when it could have been easier. As the previous poster said buy the Westside books
    Meet Lifts
    Squat- 837
    Bench- 440
    Deads- 715
    Total-1962
    Wilkes- 490

Try some mini bands. I bench over 400 and minis and monster minis are more than adequate, especially since i lift raw.

get stronger w/ straight weight for now. your lifts are pretty close to mine and i regret complicating my training with bands, it was completely unneccessary and the only time I've seen any carryover was from using reverse bands on occasion.

Make sure you get the short pro strong bands. Anything else is just for beginners. Loop one end of the short strong pro band around one end of the bar on the bench, pull it under the bench and hook the other end around the other end of the bar. Throw two plates on there and go!

Only beginners would use an "average" or "light" band. And all of the minis are for little girls.

Only beginners would use an "average" or "light" band. And all of the minis are for little girls.
