I'm an engineer. I work hard, study a lot, and make friends in the industry. These are the keys for my field. I've been out of college 8 yrs and live in AL where 100k makes you a king.

just got my accounting degree studying hard for CPA these coming months so will see what type of job it lands me. I am guessing 50k a year then on the side I can prob make 30k easily. So will be close to 100k.

Chartered Accountant. My uncle and friends sister got payed $120,000+ first year after getting their designation.

Unlikely scenario for most. I make $105k in industry (after including base + OT) and I got my CA about 1 year ago. All my fellow CA's are a bunch of chumps working at accounting firms making probably $55-60k. They don't have the people skills to sell themselves in job interviews.

$100k is currently around £62k.

I'm an accountant, so if I make partner in a firm i can assume that my salary will be higher than that. I work hard, I'm good at my job, so I think i've got a decent chance in the future of making partner, so I'd say the idea of earning that amount isn't too far fetched.

You don't want to make partner!!! Why the fock would you dick around in an accounting firm for $50k/yr for MANY YEARS trying to climb your way up the corporate ladder when you can go to industry and make a sh*t tonne of money??

I will get there eventually with some creativity and effort. Honestly, I think anybody can and making six figs is not necessarily a hard thing to do if you've got drive and work ethic.

making 100+ per year in aus isn't hard. making that much without spending half your time on a mine makes it a bit harder though.

currently only on mid 30 a year working 4 days a week in a bank 26 hours a week, but only there to make connections and get experience.

I'm working for a startup that is in its 5th year, grew 85% last year, and year before. Revenue was £8.2m last year, expected to hit close to £14m this year.

There are 6 of us in the sales department, all of whom get a £23k basic salary. One guy got a £19,000 comission for a single deal last month, and is about to get a £100,800 comission for a single deal this month - this is not including all the other deals he has closed those two months I have been working there.

In my interview, the directors told me the typical progression for the other people who have been hired is 1st year £2-3x,xxx 2nd year £6x,000 and 3rd year £1xx,000. £100,000 is attainable for me in 3 years, $100,000 is attainable in 2 years. I happened to score very highly in the interview, 27/30 dropping marks for technical knowledge which I am working on.

2. finance- not sure what but possibly something finance related. 100k shouldnt be too hard in nyc with a few years of experience.

I made 100k+ as a computer programmer at 24 which was three years out of college. I quit the job and make around 30k less to work fewer hours and be closer to home. It's cliche but you can't put a price on your time and its about $.15 a mile to drive. For the most part there is a serious trade off when you make that kind of money.

Also give me a break with "I should make that out of college" until you get that job you can't talk. A lot more goes into a 100k job then just being qualified.

Ohh and I was always blown away by how low the average households income is but that figure is accurate. There are tons of people making $10 an hour.

still in undergrad but i'm aiming for a top 20 b school and certifications
but i have several scenarios
undergrad only starting 50-52 base salary signing bonus=? bonus could be around 10% base=min 55k starting pre tax
after mba or msf at top 20 hopefully top 15= realistically and minimalistically could begin around 70k
certs- CFA, CPA or learning additional skills (programming)- 80k+
but i like to invest in securities and will learn to invest in real estate, so my net income could potentially exceed 100K in 7 years
