Also, I learned a few things while going to karate class for the first time in near 10 years to attend the black belt testing for a close friend of the family (my father's senior student and a common instructor for me) hosting it while his son does the testing. <--- No clue if that sentence makes sense.


One... I should probably do more cardio before going. Within 20 minutes I was sucking wind and sweating bullets.
Two... my form is still pretty damn good.
Three... I forgot a lot of sh*t, so the good form didn't matter when I was looking at others to figure out the next move.
Four... my feet are not used to karate class. Blood blisters on both big toes.

Although to be clear, and preempt some all too easy sarcastic quips on the subject, it isn't about making the psychopaths not do it because they are afraid of dying, it is about lessening the damage they can cause and about making them maybe consider trying to land a Top 5 bodycount score somewhere else, and not somewhere like a school that is virtually gauranteed to be be disarmed.

The last link was just something written by the mother of a child who may be in the same mental illness category as the shooter. It isn't really on any topic of any debate or discussion I have taken part in yet.

Your arming more people is accurate in that capacity/context, for sure. I was pretty sure that was what you meant, but I try to choose my words carefully and specifically and explicitly state as much as possible to avoid confusion and ambiguity. (This was more for others reading and future references/quotes than to correct you)

There are states where teachers are armed. I am not aware of any accidents yet. Also, there are a crap load of licensed carriers who are armed every day out there, and accidents are exceedingly rare, considering the numbers involved. The guns generally stay in their holster and that's that.

Sure, if enough teachers/faculty/staff carried for long enough, an accident or more is bound to happen. Call it a law of large numbers/probability, if you will. But as with everything in life, there is no one single absolute choice, decision, or answer that is absolutely perfect 100% of the time in every conceivable situation. We must put the options on a balance beam and determine which ones are better. For example, we can probably all agree wearing your seat belt is better, but there are times when you are better off without it. However, these are rare, and you are more likely to benefit from it than suffer.

This is why I posted the last link, which focused on the mental health issues.

If we really want to try to keep things of this magnitude from happening, it has to be a mutli prong attack.

Stop criminal empowerment zones. Get people in schools at all times who can fight (shoot) back. Mitigate the damage. Maybe deter them from going there because you turned a very soft target into a moderately hard target.

And the whole mental health thing. Identification. Treatment. I don't know what...something, but I don't know much on that topic.

I was always a fan of Avon (D'Angelo was good Sh*t for other reasons). String was awesome but became a punk. When he got played by Clay that sh*t was epic.


Marlo was straight cold blooded. As much as I wanted to hate Marlo (for going against Avon) I coudln't. He was on point. But.... what I did realize, at least after having convos with buddies who wanted to discuss "intricacies" of the show, Marlo's group was less loyal. They were corporation like. Cold blooded, about the money, but when things went sour, they were apprehensive. Avon's crew was more like the military; worried about honor, reputation, etc etc. I had to respect Avon's crew.

I will say, I loved when String hooked Avon up with the girls when he first got back. But I loved Avon here. So epic...
