    Why are some fat people so weak and why are sone so strong? Srs

    I've got two really fat friends.
    Like 200-250 pounds
    They never workout never been to a gym
    But one if them can go in there and bench 2 plates while the other one can't bench not even a plate?
    Generics?

    1. They are fat, so you know they are always eating in a calorie surplus, of course most of the wight they do put on is fat.

    2. Most of the time they come in and bench there bw/just a little under. It isnt impressive if a 320lb guy is benching 300lbs.

    Relative strength, from what i know strength comes from cross sectional area.
    Fat person who lifts at least a bit gains muscle under all that fat through constant and excess caloric surplus + the above point, a fat person might have a bigger frame and so this may mean larger cross section for muscles.

    Fat person who never lifts = weak because they haven't been lifting to build muscle. A fat weak guy will be stronger then a skinny weak guy because of larger frame and hence more cross section
