It's almost always Half Baked in my experience, but I agree with you. It's either Phish Food, or a relatively un-inventive, safe flavor.
I seriously don't understand why people pay for super premium ice cream only to try flavors that are widely available in commercial brands, and specifically avoid the crazy creations. I'm talking about the waves of sorority girls who run up to the freezer and stock up on Cookie Dough and the like. It's like going to a 3 Michelin star Italian restaurant and ordering spaghetti and meatballs.

Strong this. I feel like i'm doing myself a disservice if I get the same flavor from the same brand more than once every ~5 times getting ice cream. I am also always looking for new favorites, and new ideas to make my own ice cream too, so I guess it depends on one's motivations. But it definitely bothers me when people ONLY get cookie dough or some equivalent flavor when they get ice cream. Sign of a boring person right there.

Over here it seems to be either half baked, cookie dough or chocolate fudge brownie.
Went to the supermarket this morning as I was planning on getting winter berry brownie since they didn't have the new flavours there last time, but they've stocked up and I have peanut butter me up for after squats in half an hourYo momma's research methodology is so flawed...

Agreed. Since we were just talking about the big "cash cow" flavors, I seem to recall that Cherry Garcia is the top-selling pint of Ben and Jerry's.
...What?
Listen, it's not that it's bad, but I have had plenty of cherry cordial flavors from other companies that absolutely blow Cherry Garcia out of the water. Some of them even have better macros to boot. Obviously the general populace has no taste..."Mediocrity knows nothing higher than itself, but talent instantly recognizes genius."

The thing is, OCC is low volume by design in Massachusetts. Only one store sells it and that's shaws. I can find Cinnamon Buns in Stop and Shop, Hannaford, Market Basket, Wal-Mart and Target. It's been that way for 2 years. The reason why its not selling is that you can't get it anywhere but one store in massachusetts and we're next door to vermont. How does that make sense?

Has anyone tried this flavor before? I picked it up a few weeks ago at my cities Kroger affiliate
Judging from the description, I felt how could this flavor be bad? Well a variety of distinct reasons caused this flavor to not be as much win as I expected. The flavor description describes the base as Peanut Butter ice cream. While this may be true, its definitely a lower grade of peanut butter flavoring. Its probably the most bland peanut butter based ice cream I've had in comparison to recent offerings I've had from Haagen Dazs (Peanut Butter Pie) and Ben and Jerry's (What a Cluster).
This Flavor also includes a "swirl of peanut butter" according to the product description. Again, great possibility but poor execution. The peanut butter, while plentiful does not have a quality taste that a flavor like Haagen Dazs Peanut Butter Pie. The definitive "star" of this flavor is the chopped peanut butter cups. Similar to the swirl of peanut butter, the cups are plentiful and they actually taste quality. They seem larger than the cups in B&Js Peanut Butter Cup. They stand out and kick this flavor up a few notches.
With all that being said, I cannot recommend this flavor. The quality taste just isn't there in comparision to premium brands. For the calories, I would suggest someone pick up B&Js What A Cluster or Peanut Butter Cup or Haagen Dazs Peanut Butter Pie for there Peanut Butter fix

I've actually found this to be true in the MI area as well. I know of one local chain that was stocking it regularly, and that's it. It's obvious that it wouldn't sell very well with that kind of distribution.
To be fair though, I will say that oatmeal in general seems to be a strong point of contention. I know quite a few people who despise oats in any and all forms. They do not want it in their bread, in their cookies, in their pancakes, in their ice cream, etc. So...there is that.
Yes. To be candid, I cannot taste the marshmallow whatsoever.
Thanks for the warning. I was going to pick this up, but now I think I'll pass. The PB Moose Tracks you reviewed previously is a solid option as well, although it is admittedly not as peanut butter-centric as the other flavors you've referenced."Mediocrity knows nothing higher than itself, but talent instantly recognizes genius."

I like Cherry Garcia, didn't like phish food though. Fact of the matter is the reason why people choose boring flavors and stick with them is because they are boring and highly mediocre people. They don't take risks and never step outside of the box. They probably stick with the same lifting routine and don't change it even though they stalled 5 years ago and they don't change jobs because they're comfortable being extremely mediocre. I haven't been able to come up with any other explanation.

Can you come up with an explanation why people insist on eating mediocre food/deserts? I'm always open to suggestion, but that's my assessment.
In terms of actual ice cream posts, got my hands on this,
I can't try it for a few days because I'm going to be traveling the next 6 days. So I will have my assessment then. Definitely looking forward to it though.
I do have a bit of review for this though:
When you take your first bite you are greeted by Ben and Jerry's chocolate base. Rich and creamy and melts at just the right rate.
As I dug in about a milimeter I was immediately greeted by the peppermint swirl which is fairly prominent in this pint. It is just the right balance of mint to chocolate to make the taste similar to a grasshopper/girl scout thin mint. As I went a little further I ran into the chocolate swirl and the mint cookie balls. If you can get a bite encompassing both swirls with these cookies it is excellent. The cookies have a good crunch and I ran into at least a dozen in the first quarter of the pint. Solid 8 out of 10. It is better and richer than the thin mint cookie edy's, but this really shouldn't come as a surprise. If calories vs. taste is your worry though I would go with Edy's thin mint cookie as this is one of the higher calorie offerings that is not a peanut butter base as of late at 300cals/serving.Part of the not eating like a retard crew (NELARC).

Yeah, those flavors are good, but people really seem to neglect quality with great brands that have more to offer.
lol Cherry Garcia is hyped up. Still a generally good ice cream, but nothing to go crazy over.
Lol I agree, Phish Food is good. It's very solid and is a safe bet to go with. I just think people should explore possibilities, not stick with generic flavors, and expect greater things.
Yeah I've had some gourmet Amaretto Cherry flavors that make Cherry Garcia look like a joke. But Cherry Garcia is decent.
best part is the marshmallow and fudge fish. I think the poor quality chalky chocolate base is the only downfall.
lol@ judging people based on ice cream decisions. But I still agree haha.
I definitely need to try this chocolate peppermint crunch flavor. It seems much more in depth than mere chocolate mint.
