Resistance Exercise Load Does Not Determine Training-Mediated Hypertrophic Gains

    in young men...

This was a new study (April 2012) we looked at in my EXS 230 class this past week that I found it quite interesting.

Thoughts? we discussed it in class and I have my opinions but am curious to see your thoughts on it. Its a long read but worth it.

At a casual glance it seems like a pretty poor study to base anything on, outside of the initial training response. Almost to the point of being a worthless study IMO.

was wondering if he covered it. Poor college student here, hopefully soon I can subscribe again.

Did he think it was a worthwhile study?

I'd have to go check, but without plaigerizing Alan and without knowing how to spell plaigerizing, I'd point out that this was done in subjects with no prior training experience and it would be reasonable to conclude that results would probably be different in a population of experienced bodybuilders.
