Does length of your workout effect your gains?

I see at the gym some people finish their work out in 35 minutes and some up to 2hours. If doing the same work out but one guy finishes in 30 minutes and another in 2 hours would that effect the gains? Is there a reason to linger around the gym or getting in and getting out is just fine?

If you use the 10 lb dumbells you can basically work out for 10 hours a day.

Could make a difference, but not much. If one person is getting done in 35 minutes because they're lifting a weight that's not challenging (as TAWS points out), that's definitely going to have an impact. But if you're truly working hard and needing and taking at least 2-3 minutes rest between each set because of this, you'll be fine. There would be virtually no difference in results doing that versus taking 7-8 minute rests between sets and having your workout drag out for 2 hours.

How much work is being done in that time? How intense is it? How challenging is it for the person's level? How much volume is performed?
