Lol. No. On like the 7th set. Start with 225, usually go to 275, 315, 365, 405, then whatever I thought I could do. Until I was gonna snap in half.
Edit: very little rest between sets. Just enough time to change weight, stretch a bit, and maybe jump around like a moron.1175 @172

Note: my DL always climbed consistently, but it wasn't until I nailed form with the higher weights that I felt comfortable really trying to push my max. I don't consider going from 275 to 315 impressive. Once I started like 350+ form really became crucial to being able to progress.

I've come to the realization that dips is the best chest exercise (at least for me). DB and DD press are good but I can't get a good pump with them for some reason. I feel it a little more with flies but with dips it hits my chest like nothing else.
I'm still going to start off with BB press but my second exercise for now on is going to be dips... like 5 sets till failure.

I hit tris and chest the same day so it works out well. I can only spend like 5 minutes on tris because they get too pumped.
You could probably buy a dip bar for 100-200 depending on quality. Or you could buy a ****ty attachments for 30 bucks if you have a chin up bar.
But yeah, can't go wrong with a gym membership either.

Hai Diesel. How's things?
Deads twice a week crew checking in. Recover in a day easy, I could probably go 3 times a week but then who was CNS? Bulking is the ****. P/O'd across the board today."No citizen has a right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training...what a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable."

Chest and back on the same day only make any bit of sense if you're new. They're major groups and should be paired with supplemental groups, for MOST people. I used to do them together but I was in the gym for 2+ hours supersetting chest back chest back chest back. Most people can't do that, which means each group would probably suffer a bit.

I'll do some more reading on it. The only reason I stopped is I switched to Arnolds beginner workout from his encyclopedia book. Previously I was doing back/tri, legs/shoulders, and chest/bis/forearms. Maybe the only change I need to make is doing that but six days a week and changing reps per set.

Fair enough. Different things work for different people, try it out. Most people do chest/tri and back/bi though. Tris are being used for chest and bis for back already. If they're already getting worked, might at well blast them. By doing chest/bi, you're automatically adding in tris too.

Spent an hour doing some stretching, and had the wife help me with the kinks. Feel so much better now, whew.
About to hit the gym and hopefully, get some lifting done. Beast mode = ON!

I've done both and I feel pretty fully recovered when doing them on separate days. Though I did have them split Monday and Friday. I felt like I got a better, more focused workout on each when splitting them. I know most people like to combine them. :/. I'm changing things all around these next few weeks. Maybe I'll try supplemental muscles again.
