It's much cheaper to prepare a homemade meal than to buy fast-food. I'm actually really going to enjoy being a trainer. I'll get to show people what they are capable of doing, and that it's fun, and rewarding.
Lol, nvm, getting too personal. :P
We are, in holland.

One of my graduate research topics was in studying the Holocaust. I wrote a rather lengthy paper on propaganda, and the effect of social and economic models in furthering that. So, I am quite familiar with that particular argument, which gets brought up from time to time.
While I do not doubt the intent of the book, I would question its empiricism. It's probably just alarmist at best. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

For some of us, it's possible. For a single mom working two jobs, her time is indeed money and she'd rather buy a Happy Meal than cook green beans and baked chicken. You should read Nickel & Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich. Remarkable eye opener.

You are all now aware that my fat thread post was the only thing that sparked intellectual conversation in this thread.
There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

Well the thing I like most is that he's not your typical 'conspiracy theorist' or 'alarmist'. He does not insinuate, he merely produces evidence, dissects it, shows parallels and give you the tools to make your own assumptions. Most of his evidence comes from the National Library of Congress, and even former Senators / people involved in gov't.

Well my food bills always get much higher once I start getting food from fast-food places. You pay to have it prepared etc. which pretty much doubles the price or more than if you were to buy food for 1 week and make you own stuff. Easier yeah (that's why I get it, plus tastes good), but not cheaper.
Well it doesn't take that long to make a sandwich, drink some whey or pop some oatmeal in the microwave.

Given enough time, any man may master the physical. With enough knowledge, any man may become wise. It is the true warrior who can master both, and surpass the result.

Well I think it's more expensive here. A hamburger is 1 euro here, I think a double cheeseburger would cost more? Not sure. Maybe cos we're not a fast food nation it's not as cheap.
All of that for a dollar? It's much more expensive here. The soft ice cream alone is 1 euro. Also, we have to pay gas and time out to go there because there's not fast food places everywhere.

speaking of euros, can we talk about how hilarious it is every time the u.s. mint attempts to force dollar coins upon us? i got one of those presidential dollar coins as change somewhere awhile back and i'm legit scared to use it because the country bumpkins around here probably don't even know those things are real money.

Don't get me started. That's because they always mint these coins *with the bills still in circulation*. Who wants to carry around fat coins when you can have dollar bills on you, instead?
Plus, dollar bills have other uses that dollar coins can never, ever quite fulfill.

I'm so excited to start my internship. Hmm really happy I found a place. Also it's right accross the street so if it's raining or snowing I won't have to deal with it. Really happy with it.
Does it taste less artificial or what? Tbh a hamburger to me tastes very artificial, not much like real food but I really like it.

I don't know how to describe it...it just is noticeably different. Wouldn't say it tastes more 'clean' or whatever. For some reason my taste isn't partial to 'clean' vs. 'bad' beef...they taste the same to me lol. Probably have not eaten enough grass fed beef to tell (have to go to a butcher here to get that, and they're quite expensive and not as common as in europe.) Only sensitive to chicken so far...can definitely tell if it's not organic.
