    Thanks, mang.

    I was so stoked. We have a wall of fame at our gym for 405 squat, 500 dl, and 315 bench, so I'm on two of the three now. AHH.

    So close to 400 wilks and only 200lbs away from my goal. The excitement.

    By the way, you're both on spread because I almost never rep anyone.

    Getting props at my gym now. People finally talking to me after a year of lifting there. Feels good, man.

    I'll be doing a variation of the first four weeks of Mike's intermediate program but doing it for 8 weeks, maybe more. Just want to keep it less specific and focus on some lifts I'm not good at. This week will be my feeler with no fatigue drops, so sessions are short.

    Monday
    (A) SSB Squat W/ Belt[/b]
    Barx4
    155x4
    205x4
    245x4
    Belt -> 285x4
    305x4 @ an ugly 9

    (B1) Comp. CGBP
    Barx4
    135x4
    155x4
    175x4
    185x4
    205x4
    225x4 @ 8
    *Easy mode. This will be my primary bench movement for the time being.

    (B2) Band Pull Apart Holds
    EFS Mini x 5 x 30 seconds

    (C1) Floor Press
    135x5
    155x5
    175x5
    185x5
    205x5
    215x5 @ 8.5

    (C2) Hip Thrusts
    BW x 5 x 10
    *No weights on these for a while.

    (D) Run the Rack - Hammer Curls
    40x15 -> Fives -> 35, 30, 25, 20, 15, 12.5

    (E) Farmer Walks
    70 x 1 minute
    *Woot. Finally hit 1 minute on these. Going to up it to 75. Only did one set since my forearms felt like they're going to explode.

    Tuesday
    (A) Conventional Deadlift
    135x4
    225x4
    315x4
    Belt -> 365x4
    No Belt -> 365x4 @ 7
    *Super easy but I can't conventional with a belt. Weird. It feels like total ****. Guess I'm going 8 weeks unbelted conventional.

    (B1) One-Arm Deadstop DB Rows
    80x4x6 @ 7
    *Super easy but I want to progress these slowly.

    (B2) Blast Strap Push Ups
    52.5x10
    52.5x10 -> 20x5
    52.5x8 -> 20x5
    *Strip sets...that pump.

    (C) Crucifix
    12.5 x 45 seconds
    12.5 x 40 seconds
    12.5 x 35 seconds
    *I want some kind of Strongman exercise in each workout. This...this is a bitch.

    (D) Plate Pinch
    45lb Oly Plate x 3 x max time
    “Go back?" he thought. "No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!" So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.”

    Thursday

    Super quick session today. Have a lot of my plate.

    (A) Deficit Conventional Deadlift
    135x5
    225x5
    275x3
    315x2
    365x5 @ 8

    (B) Touch and Go Bench
    135x5
    155x5
    185x5
    205x3
    225x9 -> Rest Pause 3 -> 2
    *225 was complete failure, so not surprised I couldn't RP much after. Really wanted 10 reps but I'm satisfied. Last time I hit 10 reps on TnG bench was at 210?

    (C) Deadstop DB Row
    80x3x6

    (D) Crucifix
    12.5 x 50 seconds
    12.5 x 35 seconds

    Thoughts
    That's it for today until Saturday. Just a week where I don't throw back in too much volume since it's been kinda low for a bit. Chest has been really sore. Klokov press on Saturday. I am excite.

    Saturday

    Weird session. Normally Saturday = boot camp for the girls, so I never come in but I had to miss yesterday, so I had to abandon my sprints and something else I wanted to try.

    I'm so ready to up the volume. I hate not doing backoffs right now. It kills me.

    (A) 2 Count Pause SSB Squat
    Bar x 5
    155 x 5
    205 x 3
    245 x 5 @ 8
    135 x 5

    (B1) TnG CGBP
    135x6
    155x6
    175x6
    185x3
    205x6 @ 8.5

    (B2) A-Triangle
    EFS Micro x 6 x 12
    *This is like band pull aparts kinda. I really like it as my high rep upper back work.

    (C) Klokov Press
    Bar x 5
    85x5
    105x5
    110x5

    (D) Push Press
    135x3x6

    (E) Run the Rack - Hammer Curls
    40x15 -> Fives -> 35, 30, 25, 20, 15

    Thoughts
    Tested 155 OHP and I barely missed. Good to know my OHP has made NO progress. Shoulders looking juicer than ever, too? Oh well. I decided awhile ago to put a premium on overhead pressing this cycle. Ill figure out my permanent plan tomorrow.

    Not used to doing DLs for so many reps at such a high RPE, so my erectors were shot for today's workout. Fuhhhhh. Oh well. Bench was off the chain. I think my pin CGBP just messed up somehow so I didn't gauge it right. Ah well. Dat volume.

    Taking the weekend off because my erectors need a break, so I just did a longer workout (1.5 hours) and arranged some things.

    That's how I do it. I end up getting in almost 100 reps. Helps offset all the pressing I do since I do a ton. I honestly don't even track it anymore. I just do 10-12 reps for every set of pressing I do. It's only the A-Triangle and No Money. I do between sets.

    Prowler makes me gas so fast. It's something about the position it gets you in. Murderous. Go find a good gym.

    Thursday

    (A) TnG DLs
    135x5
    225x5
    275x3
    335x5
    *My back wasn't loving it, so....
    Deficit Speed DLs -> 315x10x1

    (B) TnG Bench
    135x5
    155x5
    175x5
    205x3
    225x8 -> Rest 45 seconds then +3, +3, +3, +3 (20-40 sec rest between triples)

    (C) Deadstop DB Row
    85x5x6

    I was training with Mike (guy who is insanely jacked and can DL 6 plates), so ****-a-rounditis commence.

    (D) Chins
    25x7
    45x3

    (E) Hexagon DB Grip Circuit
    Pinch 8lb DBs then do the following:
    Lateral Raises - 10 reps
    10 second hold
    Bent Over Flys - 10 Reps
    10 second hold
    Upright Rows - 10 reps
    10 second hold
    Bent Over Rows - 10 Reps
    10 second hold
    Clean and Press - 10 reps
    *I made it to the bent over rows and my left forearm gave out. I had to rest until I could finish it all. :'( He did it with 10s then switched to 15s.

    (F) Biceps Destroyers
    Ascending Run the Rack: HE would do 8 reps then I would do 8. I would wait until he finished his set then I'd do it, so around 15 seconds rest in between: 12 -> 15 -> 20 -> 25 -> 27.5 -> switched to hammer grip -> 30 -> 35
    Resist towel at peak contraction: x2

    (G) Prowler Push
    120 + Prowler x 4 x 40 yards
    *60 seconds rest. Awesome leg pump. I need to add something extra in between to keep my heart rate up. I've already noticed a slight improvement in cardio from doing these only for a week.

    Thoughts
    So, I figured out why I have so much ****-a-rounditis: I'm trying to follow Borge's recommendation of keeping reps in a workout "clean," meaning if you do 3-6, only do 3-6 for that body part, which really makes no sense for me and I haven't read a shred of evidence that suggests mixing low reps and high reps affects hypertrophy. So...problem solved. It always takes me a while to get into a good groove.
    “Go back?" he thought. "No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!" So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.”

    225x3

    245x4x5 @ 8
    *Screw you, SSB. I'm going to high bar because it doesn't hurt my shoulder like low bar.

    (B) TnG CGBP
    135x5
    155x5
    185x3
    205x2

    Bar x 4
    120x4 @ 9
    110x4x4 @ 9
    *2 min. rest between sets or else I'd do 6-8 sets.

    Monday

    215x3x3 @ 8

    40x15 -> triples -> 35, 30, 27.5, 25, 22.5 , 20, 17.5, 15, 12.5

    Thoughts
    Sad conclusion: If I want to overhead press AND bench, no amount of upper back work will make up for missing internal rotator work. Gotta make sure I start doing it everyday because external is taken care of. Stupid me. :'(

    how'd you find the klokov press?
    Honestly, it makes me feel like it's going to give me amazing shoulders and upper back. I don't ever want to remove it. I've also noticed I can't cheat on it like I would a military press. Worth cycling in as an overhead movement. My other favourite now is Z Press. I only did it once but I like that I can't cheat.

    “Go back?" he thought. "No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!" So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.”

    Tuesday

    A. Con. DL
    135x4
    25x4
    275x3
    315x2 *double overhand
    335x1
    375x4 @ 8
    355x4x4 @ 8
    *Yawn. Pretty easy, but I'm feeling these way too much in my lower back and I does not like. Probably stick to sumo for heavy stuff and keep conventional for sadiv or speed DLs.

    (B1) Blast Strap Push Ups
    BWx10
    52.5x10
    52.5x10 -> 20x8
    52.5x10 -> 52.5x6 -> BWx5

    (B2) Deadstop DB Row
    85x5x7

    (C) GHRs
    15x3x7

    (D)Chins
    BWx12
    *I did two "incomplete" reps for 14 (I barely missed them). All that extra upper back work is paying off because I did these without my shoulder feeling stuffy. Time to start hammering these out again.

    (E) Hex DB Pinch Challenge
    8 reps per exercise, 10 second hold between each (that means no rest)
    Laterals, Rear Delt Flys, Upright Rows, Bent-Over Rows, Clean and Press
    Last exercise -> I did an extra 20 reps
    *Massive improvement in finger strength already. Last week, I couldn't do these at all. I'm going to move up to 10lbs now. Mike, the guy who challenged me to this, does it with 25s.

    Thoughts
    Awesome workout. I normally talk about working out but I should mention some personal.

    I'm currently writing and editing for the #1 internet start up in Canada. We get around 8.5 million unique visitors a month (comparable to Upworthy). I also run our ******** page (1.6 million likes) and do a bunch of other things. I basically have my dream job, so I've never been happier. My days are long, though, so normally I don't get home from the gym until around 8:30pm.

    Took it easy because I'm squatting, benching, and DLing today. I'm hopping off the conventional train. It makes my lower back feel like **** and I lift significantly less doing it. I should have hit more than 335 for a trip on high bar but erectors were just shot still. 5lb PR on Klokov press so I'm happy with that. I'll probably start doing it twice a week because it stretches out my tight upper body muscles and makes my shoulders feel healthier overall.

    Klokov press, strangely, is the only one that makes my shoulders feel awesome. I can't do regular presses without a little agitation. I have the upper body flexibility of a rock. I've put a premium on it, though, because since I stopped dipping, I can't dip now.

    And, yeah, Klokov is beautiful. I'd marry that guy haha. I showed a girl at my work him and she's smitten.

    Workouts are a bit longer than usual and tougher but I'm trucking through because I know I have a lot of rest ahead of me next week. Monday and Tuesday were super ****ty days in terms of performance, so a 6-week cycle seems perfect.
