The wife asked him,

And if they have avocados, get 6."
A short time later he returned with 6 cartons of milk.
The wife asked him, "Why did you buy 6 cartons of milk?"
He replied, "They had avocados."
Now the wife refuses to talk to him and won't even tell him where he went wrong. He came to me for advice and I am foxed. Ladies, only you will understand what went wrong...please advice.

but...but...in the second sentence/statement...the subject is avocados. Its no longer milk.
Lol...its common sense though what she was saying. But not silent treatment worthy. It would have been cuter if a kid did that.

This is actually really funny, but one would assume logic would make sense of the statement.
It is logical to have 6 avocados given how long it takes for them to spoil and how many one might use for cooking. It is not logical to have 6 cartons of milk given how quickly they expire and the fact that if used for cooking you only need, usually, a small amount. To cap off the implied logic, there is seemingly no connection linking milk and avocados. Therefore it would be illogical to assume the presence of avocados should determine the number of the cartons of milk he purchased.
Clearly, he has turned his logic off. Im not sure if this is worthy of a silent treatment, but I would most certainly be facepalming if my S/O of, (which Im assuming) many years went to the store and pulled that.Ever since I was a child I have had this instinctive urge for expansion and growth.
