No, you give him another 2-3 years with this team, build around him and make a run. If it doesn't work out, some team like the Dodgers or Sox will overpay for him at that point and the Jays get a great deal in return.

We need help in outfield, SS and probably a DH/1B depending on what they do with Montero. Oh, and a back end of the rotation guy since our 3 pitching prospects might not be ready. So, yeah, I doubt they throw everything into one player.

I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Melky. He was improving before the roids and an incentive laden contract could get him to perform well. SS is our biggest offensive need. I know Ryan is one of the best defensively, but he's horrible at the plate. Not sure how much his defense can make up for that.

Ever think some teams are built to cruise in the regular season but not have the pieces to win it all come play off time? And that's why we come up with the argument that really you tend to hear mostly from Braves fans. That they're the best each year to not win it all.
