I put her down for a nap and everything seems to have settled down. I mean my prediction was that the baby was going to be born on the 14th... So I guess it makes sense if she's tuning up the band now.

Now Formal contractions with pain yet, but the Brackston-Hix "Tension" is ratcheting up a little bit more each day now.

Thought i'd share the huge black drum my cousin caught with me last summer.

My wife hooked an 80+ pounder near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel the first year we got the boat. There was a storm coming in on us quickly and we had to bug out. Got him up to the back of the boat and cut him loose. They're like hooking onto a slow moving south bound freight train.

Got 2nd in a predator hunt this weekend. After hunting for money its gonna be hard to do it for free again! Weather was terrible for hunting, the winning team only had 3 points.

Quick update...

Back from the doc... No baby yet, but her fluid is low, so I have until monday to get her fluid back up or when we go in monday at 8 am they will induce her.

Otherwise we are scheduled to induce her on the 21st, if she doesn't go before that.

Now back to the wife tending!

Both are fine, baby Eva was 6 pounds 4 ounces and was born with a full head of hair!


I had to stop back home to clear the THREE foot drifts from the driveway before I can bring them home tomorrow.

So tired...

So F-ing Tired.

But it was like getting a full year's worth of emotional energy packed into a single day!

So tired...

But it was like getting a full year's worth of emotional energy packed into a single day!

In hospital on my phone while rest of family sleeps. My wife was a real trooper yesterday. Her fluid was too low and they had to induce her. Then a few hours in the baby took over oxytocin production and my wife started contracting and dialating faster than you can dump a gravel truck!

12 hours from start to finish. Then minor complications piled up and she almost bled out! Doc was right on it and my wife is fine.

My daughter has a full head of hair and several nurses have commented that she is one of the most physically strong new borns they've seen.

After 3 hours of on and off sleep I went home this morning after they were both stable and powered the truck through the drifts. Snow blower, took a 40 minute nap in my own bed. Showered and ran back. I'm living on gallons of coffee and feel dumpster fresh... but also... transformed

Actually Mother in Law is coming to stay in the room with my wife tonight so I can go back and get some sleep and she can help my wife through the night.

Yesterday Mother in Law and her new husband kind of over stayed their welcome in the delivery room... What started out as "Stop in" during the early stages of labor (When you're basically just sitting there chatting while she has mild contractions) Turned into the two of them hanging out and crowding the room, having nit-picky In-Law chat with me, while texting and e-mailing other family members with play by play details.

She sort of turned it into "Gramma's Delivery Room Experience" instead of Me and my Wife sharing the birth experience of our daughter. Until we finally kicked her out when it came time for the actual "Pushing."

I was actually pretty pissed about it until I came back this morning and she apologized to me first thing... So she's going to try to make it up to me by letting me get 8 hours of sleep in my own bed tonight!
