Modern BCAA - Whats the best way to mix it?

then coming back to shake it a few times

ive tried warm water and it helps a little

is there a secret to mixing it?

I believe the flakes are the leucine, which never mixes easily. The only way to mix it completely (or nearly completely) is to let it sit, or you could just drink it as is.

I've never used Modern BCAA, but when I used Xtend or Purple Wrath the same thing would happen.

I find the best way is to move all the other garbage around to displace the powder so that it falls to the bottom of the trash.

You should try BSN AminoX. Thats my fav. Love the taurine in there.

^ Came in to say pretty much the same. Modern BCAA just didn't mix well for me, at all. Aside from AminoX (favorite in terms of flavor) you can also try Xtend or Compete! for intra.

The foam is leucine. That product is mostly leucine.

Foaming may occur due to the high Leucine content (as the posters above mention), but this looks off... I've consumed about 500,000 servings of Modern without issues like this.

A few simple rules of thumb...
1 scoop per 10oz of water. 2 for 20oz, and so on.
Always leave some space in the container for the mixing... I usually leave around 1/8 open.
Don't use a sifter or screen when using a shaker.
Start your mixing by just turning it upside down and rightside up again. The goal hear is to simply get the (hydrophobic) Leucine to get wet, not necessarily mix like a protein/mass shake would entail.
Vigorous shaking may cause some foaming, so please... be gentile. haha
Luke warm water works best (again, as mentioned)...

I have had no mixing issues using 15 oz of water with 2 scoops. The foam is literally there for like 10 seconds and subsides. I am using the white blue raspberry flavor.

- Also i fill the bottle up with a little bit of warm water - shake - then fill the rest up with cold water and shake. I've never had any problems with this product before though.

if you can get rid of the foam, too bad you can't get rid of the HORRID taste.

Go with BSN AminoX or Cellucor BCAA or Dymatize Recoup or PEAK BCAA's instead

also heard Musclepharm's Amino1 is amazing

Shake it up the night before and leave it in the fridge.

I am using Modern BCAA now because I ran out of AI Sports RecoverPro. I like it.

I enjoy it and it mixes well. I don't mind the foam, it's better than some of the BCAA products that literally chunk.

ignore the directions where it says to "shake vigorously" as it will create a ton of foam

in fact, best to not shake it at all


instead gently slosh the water back and forth and let it sit, most of it will dissolve

Same. Never tried Modern but have also had it happen with Xtend and Purple WrAAth for that matter!
