Right fellas, I have been a complete ******* the past few days. Too much drinking etc. not tracking macros/cals (though definitely well over, almost definitely hitting protein) and even skipped Fridays lifting session
Although it may have been a good thing since my elbows are sore (tendon pain), right wrist is sore and my hips are as trashed as they've ever been I still took the day off for the wrong reasons.
Tell me i'm a ******* and I need to lift to grow. Gonna hit it hard tomorrow.BJJ / Greyskull LP log

Lifted on Monday but felt like utter shyt after 4 nights on the trot of partying, and had F.A food preworkout. Also had to leave alot earlier than usual due to a family dinner that was arranged last minute for my sister who was home for the weekend.
Squats 3 x 5 122.5kg
Deadlift 4 reps of 130kg, purely because no fuking chalk or straps and bar kept slipping. Will nail easily for 5 next session.
OHP 3 x 5 47.5kg hard as fuu
that was all I had time for.
I'm feeling fat as phuk again lately so i'm going to cut a bit off if only for a few weeks again til I feel better about myself. It motivated me greatly to get back to bulking last time even though I only cut for 3 weeks (probably 5lbs of fat)
Not sure how long i'll do it for, but i'll keep trying to gain strength on Jasons routine, only i'll switch from 5x5 to 3x5, and might drop from 3x8 to 2x8 on some of the accessory work. Mostly i'll go by feel.BJJ / Greyskull LP log

Just back from a serious session up at my mates house. Not feeling so tempted to cut any more. This shyt is like a rollercoaster.
The urge is quelled for another few weeks anyway. Especially considering it's coming up to christmas some serious wheels would've been spun.BJJ / Greyskull LP log

I know that feel. If you want to hit your goals, you need to knock this **** off. I recognize the symptoms... You overindulge for a weekend or a big night and immediately think you need to go on the cut-train. Get your nutrition in order, stop the over-indulging, and you won't be tempted to cut. I know because I've fought that battle. You need mass on that frame, and are coming into the best food season of the year.

Workout A 14/11
Another quicky, 3x5 mostly.
Squat 125kg / 275lbs 3 x 5 Bench 82.5kg / 181lbs 2 x 5, 1 x 4 PR Row 85kg / 187lbs 3 x 5 BB Shrugs 102.5kg / 226lbs 3 x 8
*Some tricep pushdowns tacked on at the end because I ran out of time
*Everything that was done for 3x5 will be repeated until I get 5x5 now I've quelled the urge to cut temporarily. Considering the texas method for my squats soon.
*Liquid chalk has arrived, going to rip shyt up on my Deadlifts tomorrow.
*Promises to be a good session, one of my old training partners will be back in town for the day so we're training together.BJJ / Greyskull LP log

Workout B 17/11
Squat 127.5kg / 281lbs 3 x 5 Deadlift 130kg / 286lbs 1 x 5 Press 50kg / 110lb PR 3 x 5 Row 77.5kg/ 170lbs 3 x 5
*Third session in a row that was cut short due to time constraints, gym closes at 4 on a saturday. Shouldn't be happening as I should be getting to the gym earlier. Looking forward to a proper session on Monday.
*Squats will stay 3x5 so I can get to 3PPS quicker, I want this before the end of the year for 3x5.
*Everything else will be staying 5x5.
*Lifetime OHP PR, once I get 132.5kg on the squat that will be a lifetime PR as well.
*Gym was literally closing around me as I finished up 2 minutes before 4 and I had to do my last 2 sets of rows in one go, that was hard.BJJ / Greyskull LP log

Workout A 19/11
I was in the gym for over 3 hours today due to fuking about and talking to folks, got near everything done though I started to get ravenous and headachey toward the end. As of now I have a terrible headache. Good news though I was stressing like hell about an assignment due this Thursday and I email the lecturer for some help/advice and he told me the deadline was extended to the following Thursday. Thank fuk.
Low-Bar Squat 130kg / 286lbs 1 x 5 High-Bar Squat 100kg / 220lbs 3 x 5 Bench 82.5kg / 181lbs 4 x 5, 1 x 4 PR Row 87.5kg / 193lbs 5 x 5 PR BB Shrugs 105kg / 231lbs 3 x 8 PR Skullcrushers 40kg / 88lbs 3 x 8 PR Hammer Curls 15kg / 33lbs 3 x 8 Cable Crunches 70kg / 165lbs 1 x 15
*Probably could've managed 3x5 with 130kg squatting, but I really want to start high bar squatting instead, hence resetting to 2PPS. This will not interfere with my goal of squatting 3PPS by Christmas as i'll be adding 10lb a session now building back up.
*Bench was strong, +2 full sets of 5 compared to last week.
*Rows starting to feel heavy.
*Hammer curls in place of chins as it still hurts to supinate my right wrist.
I wish this fukking headache would go away.
Edit: Headache now gone, here's a vid of my high bar squat

i didn't realise you low bar squatted. cannot get used to that, not atm anyway. but fcking hell 130kg is solid weight you blue demon
what's your interest in high bar squatting 'again'?
regarding rows feeling heavy - do you ever swap them around with a pressing movement? i.e squats, then rows, then bench/ohp? i guess my point is, after hitting a solid PR on bench... then yeah rows will feel heavy after

aye I always have low bar squatted, 130 was hard and I felt dizzy as fuk after. I was assured my depth on it was good, but usually I am unsure whether i'm getting deep enough doing low bar yknow. The extra depth i'll get from high bar squatting will carry over to more hypertrophy in my legs, at least that's what I'd imagine.
good point about rows actually. I'll probably alternate which one I do first now every session. Though I can see this compromising my bench more than my rows as I can always throw some leg drive to get the weight up with rows whereas with bench I just fail the repBJJ / Greyskull LP log

startin to think it was stupid of me to challenge you to a race to 3pps

unrelated:
I got a new phone, my first smart phone and I got the MFP app which is pretty handy, but mostly because it's so quick and easy to enter your weight each day and it draws out a graph.
I've set an alarm to remind me to do this every day now, or atleast multiple times a week so I can see graphically how my weight is increasing at 3,250-300 cals a day.
Edit: it's been a while, so

Workout B 21/11
Squat 130kg / 286lbs 4, 5 Squat 140kg / 308lbs 1 PR 3PPS Deadlift 140kg / 308lbs 4 Press 50kg / 110lbs 5, 5, 4, 3, 3 Row 80kg/ 176lbs 5 x 5 CGBP 65kg / 143lbs 3 x 8 Incline Hammer Curls 15kg / 33lbs 8, 6, 6 Cable Pulldowns 70kg / 154lbs 3 x 15
*You all know how I am when it comes to making decisions, fuk high bar squatting I want sum heavy azz weight. Got complimented today by a powerlifter as well, said my squats were good.
*3PPS baby, probably could do a triple with this if fresh, but that will come later.
Here's my first set where I had to bail on the safeties, first time needing to do this so it feels good to know i'm safe if I ever need to again. Depth isn't a concern anymore.
*Press kinda weak, down from 3x5 with 50 to 2x5, 1x4 but i'll work at getting this to 5x5 now.
*Not too bad considering my measly 3 hours of sleep, I really wasn't in the form for this coming in but it was a solid session.
awwww shhhiiiiii I just ran the numbers and it turns out I've unknowingly broken a 1k total. 1060 to be precise. That's taking my DL numbers from right after squatting too.Last edited by hcoyle545; 11-21-2012 at 11:19 AM.

I forgot about our arrangement. Thanks brah
I'm thinking of running TM for my squat only up til Christmas now, which if I start on Monday will have me squatting 140 x 5 on the Friday before Christmas (21st).
What you reckon? Not optimal for hypertrophy but it could take a while going 3x5 all the way up to 140.BJJ / Greyskull LP log
