Hey Guys/Gals,
So, sorry for the lateness. Anyways, we lost 3 players this week. I'm surprised honestly, we are having an above average retention rate. That's Great! Glad to see so many of you are so motivated. Keep it up everyone! We are almost half way there.
We have the same leader as last week, but there are a few who are right on his tail. Push hard guys and get to the top! LOL;
Have a great week.

Seriously though, I've been getting complements from people at work, etc. and my roommate tells me I look slimmer than I did in the spring, meaning that I guess I lost all the weight from my post-dad's-death-grieving-large-Dairy-Queen-treats-four-times-a-week-not-giving-a-crap-about-anything phase. Thanks man, I really appreciate it. I would always talk to my dad about getting in shape, etc and he'd always be happy about it and encourage me, but I'd never take it seriously at all and I'd always end up failing. I wish I would have done this a loooong time ago and I wish he would have done it while he was still alive. Perhaps he'd still be here. He died of respiratory failure due to bronchitis, but I'm pretty sure he would have shaken off the bronchitis in the first place if he would have been in better shape. (he was pretty young, but he was pushing 400 pounds and had diabetes and high blood pressure, I know all that junk mounts up to an early death) Unfortunately, he's gone and nobody can't change that, but I know that he'd be proud and happy for me right now. All I know is that I'm going to dedicate all my progress to him and his memory. I know this is a bodybuilding forum and the focus in mainly on fitness, diet, etc but I believe that I, along with a ton of other people on this thread, have reasons to get in better shape beyond ourselves. We have families, etc and that motivates a lot of us, I think. So guys, push it! Do it for yourself, your family, and your life and health!
(sorry for always writing books instead of just posting quick replies, but I think this one really had to be said...)Blue team!!

This thread had gotten awfully quiet after only one month.
Wanted to share a little interesting experience I had at the gym last night when I went to life.
A lady who I haven't seen in a few months saw me and told me she almost didn't recognize me because I've slimmed down so much in the last few months.
The next thing she told me is what kind of caught me by surprise because it's the first time anyone has said anything to me like this before.
She commented that my face looked like I was getting too skinny or something along those lines. This was on my mind because there's another thread floating around the Losing Fat section talking about the very same thing.
It made me think that people had gotten so used to seeing me when I was overweight/obese that we just look so different when we actually start to get lean.
I still have a long ways to go to get to where I want to be that if I'm already starting to get comments now like that, makes me wonder what people will think in the next year when I get down to a legitimate 8-10% bodyfat.
Not doing this because I want comments, but it was just surprising to hear that from her.Only Those Who Risk Going Too Far Can Possibly Find Out How Far One Can Go

I never really thought it would happen to me but this week im 100 pounds down from my all time high of 330, and altho i wasnt that heavy anymore when I started working at the place where i work now, i was still 65+ pounds higher then i am now and that was like a year ago and during this last month ive had more then a few people comment on my lost weight and damn does that feel good and motivate you to keep going, altho sometimes i dont know what to reply and just say thanks and move on, and the best part is those who have commented have been those pretty young things =) so keep at it all, i know I will.
Put some metal in your ears, iron in your hands, and the world will turn.

I've really started to get waves of comments from people at school and in my community in general. It feels great to know people notice and keeps me motivated to press on and whittle away the weight. It really is the little things that keep me going like having women touch my arms or seem at least slightly more interested in me. The most interesting thing, though, was one of my professors noticing it and referring to me in class as the "shrinking guy."

I am definitely ready to kick it up in the next 2 months. The first month I had kidney stones and a foot injury.
I got fitted for custom orthotics which will supposedly help me with my foot and knee pain. Does anyone here experience (good or bad) with orthotics?Jun 1 - Aug 31 Transformation

Came in at 245lbs with my mid week weigh in, getting back on track. Looks like my 249lbs last week was an anomaly. I think it was water weight because I didn't hydrate well at all so my body was probably holding on to all the water it could get.

That's great.
It's a "competition".. I suppose in a sense there's one "winner" but we're all winning if we're losing the fat, right? Staying in the competition is more a way of remaining motivated by surrounding yourself with other people with the same goals as you. Just my two cents.US Coast Guard ~ SEMPER PARATUS

Yeah your right when I posted that I was just having a really crappy week diet-wise. I was so burnt out. But I regrouped over the weekend and got my head back in it this week. I inadvertently started IF this week. Kinda. I hate breakfast so I just stopped eating it lol. So my first meal isn't till 11:30. I get up at 4:00 am btw.
Also, I'm getting a bunch of overtime at work which is great but that means I can only make it to the gym once maybe twice a week. Which sucks. But next week I should be able to get at least 3 days in.

Bump for great justice and motivation.
And to note, down to 196.4 today. Don't think I've weighed this since before high school and I turn 30 next year so yeah....Only Those Who Risk Going Too Far Can Possibly Find Out How Far One Can Go

TOTALLY AGREE - to me too its about going the distance, never giving up and seeing results. Am sure that I will gain some weight this week, as I spent 4 days at my sister´s place in the Netherlands and went out for dinner every night. That being said, I´ve never done such a good job as during this trip. Ate minimum amounts of food during the day to compensate for the nights out and went to a local gym every day. I dont really care what the scales will say on Sunday, I already achieved something and whatever weight I gain will be lost in the coming weeks
Train hard, expect success!
