You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Well-played multi-choice response. I just liked the show and wanted to throw it into the discussion actually.

It's amazing what an ocean or 10, 15 or 20 years' age difference can make in opinions on British TV. . . . . BTW, Friends was weak. Coupling was much funnier.

I've heard that reading the phone book used to be popular too.

Unfortunately, today's version of the filibuster doesn't require heroic feats of stamina. I don't know the exact details but, at some point in the past, the rules changed so senators no longer have to hold the floor by talking (about whatever they want) for an extended period of time. Modern day filibuster rules mean that 60 votes (out of 100) are now frequently required to make progress on legislation and on other matters too.

I honestly don't have a problem with this.

This country is so polarized its palpable. The last 4 elections have been ridiculous....maybe this has been going on longer, but I only really became politically aware in 1992. The point is that with the country split right down the middle, so it would seem, I don't think it makes any sense for one party to get elected and then start passing all their crap agenda.

I'm ok with filibustering, deadlock, and a congress that does nothing. The country was supposed to be free with the power in the hands of the people....its become something else with most of the real power being in the hands of the media and the corporations.

If the congress is doing nothing...at least they aren't making things worse.

I used to agree with you on this. Actually, I still do to a large degree.

But things are so dysfunctional now that our credit rating was downgraded due to congress's inability to reach a timely agreement on raising the debt ceiling in 2011. It could happen yet again. The reason that this matters - as I understand it - is that having a lower credit rating means that our creditors can get a higher interest rate on the debt that we do owe. So, we'll end up paying more to the Chinese and others in interest. Of course, we shouldn't have gotten ourselves into this mess in the first place...

Filibuster reform wouldn't have helped much with that issue though.

It's about 80" tall, roughly 48" wide, and there's about 28" between the uprights.

Just keep in mind that the base is quite a bit larger than the rest of the dimensions would lead you to believe. It won't be a problem if you plan in taking it all apart, but the base extends a few inches in front of the front uprights and several inches (like a foot or so) beyond the rear uprights. The sides are also welded at the top, so you'll need about 35"-36" of width for each pair of uprights.

should be enough. i plan on taking it fully apart. i have 38 inches of space in the back so it should slide right in no problems . i can fit something 7 foot in the car up to the front seats so i don't anticipate any problems (minusing the inches of the base from the top).

I dont know where to go with this. I agree with you that we should not act or fail to act in a way that would hurt the country. However, your comment that it never should've gotten to this point is the point. How we have ever managed to rack up 16 trillion in debt is a mystery. That no serious cuts in spending are being looked at by everyone involved should be criminal.

Our children may not have a chance.

Our government has no intention of ever paying back it's debt. Government spending is so bad that payback is impossible. As long as the U.S. is the world's superpower (and it won't last forever) the world's economy, as well as that of our creditors, is dependent on ours. Our creditors can't call-in that debt. All the while our politicians just keep spending away, pleasing the constituents and getting re-elected knowing that, once they serve in federal political office (no matter how short the term), they are guaranteed a lifetime of government benefits. They spend their careers getting re-elected knowing that their actions and the country's problems will just get handed down to the next wave of politicians. Sounds like a nice gig.....So go ahead and vote for that next tax increase, feeling that it is what is best for our country, I am sure that a politician will have no problem spending (wasting) that revenue.

It's not governemt spending that makes it impossible, it's the design of the US financial system.

The government borrows the US currency from the fed, at interest.

So, they immediately owe more than they borrowed.

Given that there is only one place to acquire more funds (the fed) needed to repay the debt plus the interest, you are in more debt trying to gather up the money to pay the original debt.

It's a great system if you are a shareholder of the fed.

I believe you have Woodrow Wilson to thank for your predicament.

Deadwood.....I agree with everything you wrote. I forgot to include corrupt politicians when I blasted the media and the corporations.....now we have a real "axis of evil", don't we?

Daniel.....its somewhat amusing and embarrassing that someone from a country so far away understands our currency better than most of us....and that you can correctly blame the source.

I think I'm going to go get some new credit cards and buy some new stuff...I can't pay it back, but that's what bancrupcy is for, right?

as far as the parabody goes the guy flaked out. he called before i got there but i didn't hear the ring (my ringer was still off from work). i saw the call about 12 minutes after and called him back and no answer. when i got to the place a voicemail popped up on my phone. it was from the guy saying someone else was there already and to call him back within 15 minutes or he would sell it to him as i wasn't there yet, but i was still on time for the original appointment. so long story short it was no longer available. i let him have a piece of my mind and left. oh well. the rack was also pretty scratched up. not a big deal but yeah. oh well. douche canoes and what not.

trip wasn't a total loss. picked this up for free with the intention of flipping, but i think i will save all the pulleys as they are the same size as my crossover machine (spare parts) and i will use the seat and back pads for something, one thing being a headrest for my vertical leg press.

i will see where i can go to scrap the rest of the metal. its pretty heavy. i will probably sell the lat attachments.

Good Idea. Breaking it down for parts is about the best idea to me, as these things don't sell at all by me, eventually you'll also probably find something to use the stack for .

there was no stack. it looks like one of those from the front, but its not! i'm not honestly not really sure what it is. like a cross between a bowflex and one of those with a stack. free is free though .

i can reuse the rubber feet as i am missing one for one of the machines, and the foam rollers, as the cats like to claw some of the ones i have. need to get them declawed soon!

Looking at buying a .22 caliber rifle for plinking. I really like the Ruger 10/22 takedown but I don't much about what else is out there. Who's got some recommendations?
The Ruger 10/22 tactical has some more features but are they really needed on a .22? I am stuck with a 10 round clip (Ca.)

I have also seen two versions of the takedown. One has a 18'' stainless barrel and the newer one has a 16'' alloy barrel with a screw on flash suppressor. Which would you get and why?
I am leaning toward the stainless if I can still find one new, believing it be more rust/wear resistent.

Lastly, what scope would you reccommend? I would like stay under 100 bucks. That puts me right over 500.00 bucks before tax.

It's amazing what an ocean or 10, 15 or 20 years' age difference can make in opinions on British TV. . . . . BTW, Friends was weak. Coupling was much funnier.
    ZOMG! Friends was AMAZEBALLS!

(not srs) I mat look up this coupling show properly.

I have always wanted to watch the wire but it is long finished and highly regarded so the boxsets probably cost a fair chunk of change.

Reading the phone book, lol. Is your senate like our parliament? As in the members are elected to represent a part of the country but have an allegiance to one particular party?

The point is that with the country split right down the middle, so it would seem, I don't think it makes any sense for one party to get elected and then start passing all their crap agenda.

I'm ok with filibustering, deadlock, and a congress that does nothing. The country was supposed to be free with the power in the hands of the people....its become something else with most of the real power being in the hands of the media and the corporations.

If the congress is doing nothing...at least they aren't making things worse.
I'm ok with filibustering...but I think they should make them get up there and read the dictionary if they want to do it so bad.
