Careful. Word on the street, is there were secret steps in how to find the best deals on CL, and then flip them for $$$. Believe they said they were found tucked away in either an armoire or taped on the bottom of a 45 lbs. Olympic plate in the Columbus area.
P.S. I would like 2 pieces of free bread with my crab bisque and mulligatawny soups.....[]---[] Equipment Crew #40 []---[]

Do any of you guys use a juicer, and have used it for a long time, not just buy and it sits on a shelf?
Id like to get one to make carrot juice LOL, but Ive read the cheap ones are no good, and a good one is around $400-500 which is too much $ for me.
Any personal recommendations for a good cheaper one which is easy to clean and still not too expensive? If its too difficult to clean and process I will just stick to buying juices in the bottle, its about 5-6$
Many thanks.[]---[] Equipment Crew #6 []---[]

Well here's the question, are you willing to strain your juice? If so I'd recommend the Ninja Pro, it's actually a blender. But it'll blended up veggies/fruits to a smoothie texture and if you strain that with a cheesecloth you'll have a pretty sweet juice and it only cost about $100 bucks. Or you could just drink it as a smoothie if you don't mind the thickness of it.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #56 ▪█─────█▪

I use a Nutribullet. I throw in whatever I want, usually spinach, protein powder and various fruits and add water and it does the trick everytime. SUPER easy to clean!

Thanks guys for the fast replies, much appreciated.
Im not really into cleaning it up and rinsing and cleaning the seive for a long time to get one cup of juice, thanks for mentioning that D327.
Thanks Hish, Ive heard lots of people talk about the Ninja Pro as a very good alternative to the 2 big name blenders, I will look into straining, maybe it wont be too bad.
@ BB, nutribullet looks really interesting as an extractor thanks.
If anyone is interested, for my current protein shakes I really recommend this. Ive had mine for over 2 years now and its great. Easy to clean, enough power, and....easy to clean. I put in oatmeal, greek yogurt, ice-cream, protein scoop and frozen berries and it blends everything right up with only a few pulses. And its only around $15. So Im really spoiled by its convenience - my other blender was too large and difficult to clean, you had to take things apart each time.
Hamilton Beach personal blender.
Thanks again for the juicer comments.[]---[] Equipment Crew #6 []---[]

Can you not "juice" with a blender?? Its probably a dumb question, but I honestly don't know.
On that note.....just as a reminder, because I'm pretty sure I got the idea here....it is possible to use a normal blender as a quick protein mixer without a bunch of clean up. The larger mouthed mason jars will fit perfectly in the bottom part of the blender (the part with the threads and blades). You just mix as normal, take off the whole fixture with the mason jar, take off the blender part, rinse it off and put it back, then drink the shake out of the jar. All that's left to clean is the mason jar and there was always going to be a container to clean up. It works great and neither the blender or the jars are expensive.
I'm not sure if it would work for juice...but my guess is you'd want the extra volume from the normal blender pitcher anyway. Just thought I'd bring up that tip again since your post reminded me of it Accutron!▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

I use the Blender Shakers for mixing protein shakes, and I have a magic bullet for the rest (works much like how you mention using the mason jar Keetman).
The Ninja Pro is probably the easiest blender I've ever had to clean up (seriously) so if someone finds they don't mind straining or drinking thicker drinks it's pretty outstanding.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #56 ▪█─────█▪

Ok...since there is so much whining going on about it....and because in a half hour its my birthday month (which is irrelevant of course).... if the crew members would like to give me some private nominations we can let some one into the little circle jerk here.
Happy February New Crew Member Voting!
....and I still can't type in all caps. Do not like. I blame the douchetards that insist on typing in all caps for no reason...damn it. They pooped, now we all have to wear diapers.

Good tip on the mason jar - on my particular blender the gaskets and all that are on the blade part, so I will have to see if that works.
Juicers have a canister on the back (which they never show that holds all the pulp and debris), a blender just keeps everything together AFAIK. Then the strainer comes in handy as Hish mentioned...
Ive never had fresh carrot juice before LOL, I really like it. The bottle I bought contains the juice of 40 carrots I was like WTF is this even safe to drink.
I vote for

Well, have been battle tested in the "juice wars" over the years. Can remember getting a juice attachment for our Oscar 25+ years ago. Was a bit of a waste. Have also owned the previously mentioned Bullet and Ninja(in assorted variations). They had their places if not asked to do worldly juicing feats of strength.(not to be confused with a festivus act). They were ok. Have owned a few smoothie machines as well(ok, let's call em what we should. frozen drink machines that facilitate alcohol transfer in a more pleasing manner)
For a bit of entertainment, head over to YouTube and search "will it blend". Blendtec blenders take it to the next step..... Having said that, you can actually get quite a few different juicers/blenders reviews on Youtube, and see how they work as well as their actions, buttons functionality. Have used the Blendtec, and know people who have used the VitaMix. Believe you can see the VitaMix on demo at some of the Costcos around the country. The guy rawfoods on YouTube, who I believe sells juicers via discountjuicers.com has quite a few comments on juicers/extract/mixers. Have never dealt with him, but have seen a few of his videos.[]---[] Equipment Crew #40 []---[]

Thanks for the info! I have read about the BlendTec and VitaMix - Ive even read that they have so much power if you make soup it warms up the soup from how much it blends it. But they are both 400-500$...
Will check out RawFoods on Youtube when I get a chance. Thanks again.
I dont know if I even deserve a juicer My midnight snack which Im eating right now is a can of 7up, a large bowl of clam chowder, 40 crackers, and a Caramilk bar LOL.[]---[] Equipment Crew #6 []---[]

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?
