Old post. The reason I had the leek was when I first started dating my wife she had bought it for me. I actually misplaced it somewhere down the line. She bought me one for Christmas and ironically the box was lost (even though it showed as delivered - maybe stolen?). I just received the replacement Amazon sent out after I finally got around to dealing with customer service. I now have the Leek again and love it as an everyday pocketknife. Speedsafe open, serrated edge, small so I wont jack up my hand when digging for keys in pocket, and even has a lock to prevent blade from opening.
My grandfather also gifted me the Swiss Army knife he has had for about 1000 years (it's still in excellent condition) with our last name engraved on it. When I think of my grandfather, I think of him in his recliner holding this thing (either cleaning his nails lol or doing something else). I won't be carrying that one all over the place because I still don't trust myself.

Here's to more and cheaper gear, funnier put-downs, and strength and health for everyone.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

New Years eve tonight!
This is my plan.
1- Check this forum, maybe someone bought a new bench or rack and has posted pics
2- Do my squat routine, should take 30-40min
3- Have a hungry man with a Coke
4- Watch The Hobbit pt 2 Desolation of Smaug which was recently released on the torrent sites
Awesome, LOL. Happy 2014 to all bros here.[]---[] Equipment Crew #6 []---[]

3. turkey, box of golden grahams, 1l of milk, bag of cracker jacks + whatever I can find
4. considered it. Still planning to see it in theaters. will probably pass out from the sugar anyways
we'll see if gf wakes me up at midnight. my guess is not.▪█──█▪ Equipment Crew #61 ▪█──█▪

Haha, if only. But seriously, happy new year to everyone! As Stasher mentioned, this place has become like a home away from home (though my real home isn't quite so strange, though it is far more accepting of my gear addiction ).
As for how I'll be ringing in the new year, with a little luck, I will be asleep, along with the wife and baby (fingers crossed). But more likely, my wife and will be changing diapers and feeding the baby while I browse the forum .Last edited by judgecrandall; 12-31-2013 at 08:58 PM.

Wildtim..... congrats on your Spartans whooping that Tree's arse.
Now.... screw your stupid Spartans for not beating a crappy notre dame team so they could've fought for a National Title.
That is all..... I'm going to go prepare myself for some wound licking after Friday.... tOSU's defense was atrocious all season and it looks to be missing 3 of their best defensive players.... or at least down one and 2 others that are probably sick.
Not sure I'm going to like how this season ends.....▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

I've never really seen anyone take a stab at tOSU like this before.... its an interesting attempt.
You're basically saying you wish a different team had shown up because you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that last years ND team couldn't beat Alabama....so the better option is to pretend you know how the outcome would've been against an undefeated OSU team.
I mean... ND had to be a better team than OSU last year.... just like they were in '95, '96, and '05, right?????
I wish Rice would've played against OSU in 2006 so Florida wouldn't have wiped the floor with them.....
Why are we talking about last year???▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

I didn't see that game, but I have heard a lot of people saying the same thing. That's too bad if its the case.
I'm always torn between rooting for the B10 or not. Most of the other fan bases seem to fall lock step with the rest of the country in hating on the Buckeyes.... so I'm not really sad sometimes when they're defeated. On the other hand..... I realize the importance of the conference looking good, so I usually root for them. I definitely wanted MSU to win.... its always good when the only team that beat your team does well against a solid opponent.... plus Dantonio is a Buckeye and I like him.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

Of course I wish a different team had been in the national championship having the hindsight to know what happened against Alabama. At least with OSU, Oregon, or Kansas state I think ND would have stood a chance. I do not know what would have happened in any of those match ups but I suspect the games would have been much closer.
As for this year ND was not crappy enough to lose to msu. Oh and I am pretty sure the refs in that game were big ten or whatever you want to call yourselves now refs.

Meh.... Alabama was better than ND.... its better that it went like it did.... just like in '06 when Michigan and tOSU didn't rematch in the National Title game... neither team was as good as they were thought to be, they just hadn't played the right competition yet. I'm a huge fan of the playoff system and this is why.... the teams get to prove themselves on the field and would be analysts don't get to pick a champion.
As far as tOSU is concerned.... I always thought they were given a break last year with the probation and this year with the loss to MSU... I believe OSU's defense to be so bad that anyone in the top 10 might be able to beat them.
FTR.... when I called ND "crappy" all I meant was that all in all, MSU should've beat them. They didn't and ND gets props for that..... just saying I wish the real MSU team had shown up for that game.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

I agree with the playoff and that Alabama deserved the championship. I was rooting for Sparty tonight and was glad to see them win. As for the ND game I prefer to think ND played up to its potential vs msu having a bad game. Nd had some talent this year but played very inconsistent from game to game. We could be even worse next year especially with fsu and Louisville on the schedule.

The sports misc is such a headache lol between the SEC homers and the trolls always starting threads trying to stir 'em it's nearly impossible to have real discussions about football.
Every NFL thread turns into Brady vs Manning
Every NBA thread turns into Lebron vs Kobe/MJ/etc.
Every NCAA Football thread turns into SEC vs all
Anyway most exciting game thus far Duke vs A&M, although UCF vs Baylor has been fun to watch. MSU shoulda won much bigger, but their offense was trying it's best to hand the game away!▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #56 ▪█─────█▪

Finally got around to getting a power belt. I figured I needed something as I'm finally getting to the point where I'll be setting some PR's again and I'm working in the less than five rep range a lot lately. Really wanted one of those easy buckle Longhorn ones but I decided to bite the bullet and do a review on this one Bodybuilding.com Accessories: 4" Power Belt and I'm not as financially secure as I was this time last year and didn't want to spend much.
I still have my old bodybuilding belt, but I bought that when my pants were six inches smaller and my waist was smaller than that, now that not the case. It serves more as dietary inspiration than back support these days.[]---[] Equipment Crew Member No. 11

Was up puking all night with a damn stomach flu my boss brought into the office. I had a bit of sparkling apple juice today, stomach still in a knot. Anyone else catch this thing?
I know how you feel Wildtim. I keep a pair of shorts from the days my waist was smaller than my hips.
Yesterday one of my coworkers came to the home gym for me to show him how to lift. I basically put him through StrongLifts 5x5(I do the 5x5 part of ICF at lunch and then try to do the accessory work in the evening). This guy has been losing weight swimming and dieting and decided to take me up on my offer to show him how to lift. He is 6' 350lbs. He really impressed me with his lifts. I had him do box squats and he was able to do 5x5 with 65lbs with the bench set to parallel. In all lifts he listened well and had surprisingly good form. What particularly impressed me was his dedication to the lifts on the OHP. Not only did he have a hell of a grinder on one of his 4th reps, he went for the 5th with a legit try and almost got it up. I wanted to be extra careful with deadlifts and after bodyweight/bar want ups he did a set of 10 with 95lbs and we called it good. His quote from today: "it doesn't hurt if I don't move". I will run him through the other workout next Friday and then hopefully he will take advantage of his 24hr membership and do the routine on his own Mondays/Wednesdays. I plan on working with him for a few weeks to check up before setting him free(weight changes are a beast for me to be able to work out too)
