As a D1 athlete, I am subject to NCAA testing at random. I ordered some Craze and want to start using it PreWO but I want to make sure I am in the clear first. An email from drugfreesport claims that the caffeine level is fine as long as I stay under the legal limit but also another questionable ingredient. The reply I received:
This product also lists phenylethylamine: Phenylethylamine’s core structure is the basis for a number of psychotropic compounds, including amphetamines, methamphetamine, and ecstasy and more.
However, pheny is not listed as a banned substance by the NCAA and says it is just a precursor to the drugs.
The trainer for my sport also questioned some of the ingredients..
What do you brahs think? Also, you have to be given at least 2 days notice of testing. So as long as I can piss out this stuff in two days, it's not a problem either. I looked up pheny's half life and I found that when ingested orally, it has a very fast half life in the body, <1 hour.
Thanks for the help fellas.

What makes more sense is....... make thread ask question and then purchase product. You should be fine. If you do end up getting tested take the jug with you and tell them the circumstances if you think it'll be an issue.

I understand that.. I consulted drug free sport as well as a few people on here and they claimed it should be fine. When I asked my trainer just to be safe, he claimed that there were a few questionable things in there. That is why I just wanted to consult a rep from DS to make sure I was in the clear.

While I personally don't think you'll have any issues, I am also going to tell you that from the perspective of what the company (DS) endorses and recommends, you'll be using the product at your own risk. Why? Well firstly I can tell you that Craze will not cause a positive result on a drug test because it does not contain any banned or controlled substances. However, regarding a false-positive result, there is too much variance between brands of tests, testing sensitivity and everybody's differing regimes and biochemistries, so there is no way for us to know with absolute certainty. While a false-positive is typically cleared up through further testing I have no idea whether it would be an accusation that hangs around your reputation if you try and make a career out of your chosen sport.
Don't misunderstand, however, I am not saying that you will false-positive on a test as hundreds (thousands, maybe?) have not. In fact, we have received many reports of users of Craze passing drug tests without any issues whatsoever. However like you would be, these people were using Craze at their own risk as stated on the product label. Ultimately, if your career rests upon passing a drug test then you should not take Craze, nor any other dietary supplement as there is no way to know for certain how any dietary supplement will react with other foods or supplements in your body.www.GetDS.com

I don't either.... I just think the recent news on scumbag formulators who put undisclosed, illicit compounds in their products is an interesting topic.
