I have been having this weird sensation of warm water being poured on my left foot for the past week or so. It happens a few times a day. It doesn't hurt. I have no idea what it is so I am keeping an eye. Hopefully it will just go away.
I am definitely flirting with a depression but I am doing my best to keep it from getting a hold.
Today's gym visit was nothing exciting but I am improving every time.
Squat 70 - 8x2
DL 125 - 8x2
Decline bench press 70 - 8x2
Row 55 - 8x2
Ass. pull up 130 - 8x2
DB shoulder press 25 - 8x2
Mile- 10:17
I didn't lose any weight. I do feel like I look better lately. I think it is because my core isn't all loosey goosey anymore.Love others well, but love thyself the most

It honestly surprises me that all women don't end up depressed postpartum. There's so much going on. The hormonal fluxes that take months to straighten out, the lack of or interrupted sleep, the huge change in lifestyle, the isolation of being home alone with an infant if you're used to going to work everyday, not to mention that stress of "OMG, I suddenly have this tiny helpless human being I am now totally responsible for 24/7."
Glad you're getting to the gym and starting to feel better physically"Eat some oatmeal, do some squats, how hard is that seriously."--Prof Ham

Last Wednesday I got into the gym and did a full body workout on the machines.
Theo has been going through a developmental phase and the past 5 days were VERY difficult. I was ready to run away. I broke down and took some of my anti-anxiety medication and I feel so much better today. Oddly enough my back didn't hurt that much today either - I guess some of the pain is due to tension. Anyway, Theo also is back to his old self today, thank goodness.
I think I could increase the weights more quickly on some of these lifts but my passion for lifting is a bit weak right now and I am happy enough to get it done. I am sure the passion will come back, it just may be a while.
Squat - 80 - 2x4
DL - 135 - 2x4 (crap! I meant to do 145 but I just realised that I added the plates wrong)
Row - 65 - 2x4
Bench Press - 80 - 2x4
Assisted WG pull up - 115 assist - 2x4
Assisted dip - 115 assist - 2x4
35 foot bear crawl
10 minutes walking 3mph 8% incline
No weight lost. My measuring is very loose. I am recording my intake every day though.Love others well, but love thyself the most

DB Bicep curl - 30 lb 1 x 3
DL - 1 x 5 @ 135
1 x 5 @ 155
Walking lunges - 2 x 20
Gator walk - 15 feet
WG assisted pull ups - 70 lbs assist - 3

Today was a pretty great day. Theo got up much earlier than usual but made up for it by blowing raspberries at us for the first time.
Weather was warm so I asked Theo's grandmother to watch him while I spent two hours working on the garden - I'm getting close to being done for the year.
I picked some mustard greens and carrots to add to dinner and froze some carrots as well.
Then I had a good day at the gym. I am feeling good because I can see my shape again under the fat.
Here is what I did:
Push ups - 6
Squat - 75 lb 8x2
DL - 135 lb 8x2
DB bench - 35s 8x2
BB row - 75 lb 4x2 and 65 lb 8x2
Assisted WG pull up - 115 lb assist - 8x2
Shoulder press - 30 lb 1 x 7 *rep PR, 1 x 3
Then a bunch of stretching.Love others well, but love thyself the most

Baby raspberries that sounds so cute
Looks like you are getting stronger and the feeling of things taking shape is always good!
Having a garden sounds like fun, I can't wait to have one someday. If this were easy, everyone would walk around ripped.

Nice bench and shoulder press!
Glad the Theo is cooperating better. Oh babies are so cute but they can be so HARD!!
Mustard greens, oh how I love mustard greens. We tried some purple ones this year and I really liked them! Don't you just love spending time in the garden?Spoon Barbell Club

It was sooo cute. He has done it a few times since then but not every day or anything. I guess he doesn't want the novelty to wear off.
Thanks! I am actually able to progress now on my shoulder press. I did something to one of the ligaments in there a while back and haven't increased for ages but everything seems healed now so I am moving up.
I tried some purple ones too this year. They are very pretty. I cooked some though and they went blue so they are strictly for salads!
Yes, it is, even if it is only on a few lifts.
Last Sunday I didn't get in to the gym. I was on the way but there was an accident on my route there and I got a little over anxious with the traffic backup and having to deal with that so I just turned around and went home. Driving scares me!
Then, this week, the starter went on the car and it was in the shop so I missed my midweek session. Yesterday though Rich's mum asked if she could have the baby and offered me her car so I could go to the gym. I jumped all over that.
Mile run - 9:49
Squat - 2x4 @ 85
DL - 2x4 @ 155
Row - 2x4 @ 75
DB BP - 40s - fail. There were no free bench press stands (is that what you call them?), and no free flat benches so I tried the 40s on an incline bench. Couldn't get them up.
5 hanging knee raises
Ass'd WG pull up - 100 assist @ 1x4
Ass'd dips - 100 assist @ 1x4
The run took a lot out of me. Note to self - do not run first on heavy lifting days.
I am eating less now, I think my mind has finally realised that I am not expending the same amount of energy as before.
If all goes well, I will be in again to the gym tomorrow.Love others well, but love thyself the most

Sorry to hear about the car issues Maggie, hopefully its fixed and everything is good to go That's awesome that your MIL is willing to watch the little one and let you borrow the car.
40's on DB BP is a lot (especially coming off of a lifting break and giving birth), I wouldn't be discouraged over that I think the most I ever did was 30's or 35's and that was a while ago... I focused more on BB bench though. If this were easy, everyone would walk around ripped.

I went in on Sunday and did a mostly machine workout but did do some benching. I got 2 x 4 @ 85 in. I would like to get 40s on the DB eventually though.
It's almost midnight so I don't have time to read the journals I like to read but I will jot down what I did today.
Push ups - 1 x 4
Squat - 12 x 2 @70
DL - 12 x 2 @135
Bench - 12 x 2 @70
BB row - 8 x 2 @70
Ass'd pull up - 12 x 2 @115 assist
Crab walk - 35 ft
I struggled on quite a few of these so I will only be increasing the squat and bench weight on the next 12 day.
I also sat on the recumbent bike and read a magazine - enjoying the time alone.
Funny thing right now - my hair and face look awesome, and of course my body is all lumpy! I bet when I get down to a better size my hair will be straggly and I'll be haggard looking or something.
Theo is getting big! I don't know how to make the picture smaller on here.

Things are busy with Christmas coming and my course takes up more time that I had anticipated.
On Sunday at the gym I did 50 burpees and ran.
Today's work:
Squat 80 - 8x2
DL 140 - 8x2
Row 75 - 6x2
Bench 75 - 8x2
Assisted pull up - 110 assist - 5x2
Shoulder press (DB) - 30 - 8x1, 6x1
I covered two miles walking and running. I did 5 intervals of 2 minutes running at 6.6.
Since Monday I have been really on with my intake - I told Richard I won't be eating with him as much because I find it harder to track. I have a good feeling that I am starting the ball rolling!
Richard's birthday was yesterday so he took the day off work today which is why I was able to go to the gym during the day. There were a lot of people there. I didn't realize it would be so busy midday.Love others well, but love thyself the most

I've decided to keep up with my challenge to get to 100 burpees done in a day. I can't lift free weights and have energy for burpees as well so I did burpees and machine work today.
55 burpees - 11 x 5 interspersed between sets
Lat pull down - 6 x 2 x 105
Horizontal leg press - 8 x 2 x 315
Leg curl - 10 x 2 x 120
Leg extension - 10 x 2 x 135
Bicep curl DB - 1 x 6 on the left and 1 x 5 on the right arm
5 straight leg bench dips
I also rode the bike for 10 minutes and read my book.Love others well, but love thyself the most

Yeah dreahere and jjeane, the burpees are pretty high impact. Especially on my wrists and ankles. It is a one shot thing though. Once I do the 100 I probably won't do them again for ages.
Theo's hair has started to fall out so he has bald patches here and there!
I'm glad that your journal is in your siggy jjeeane. I was trying to find it the other day and I gave up! Will check it today.
Theo's Grandma wanted to spend the some time with him again so she gave me the keys so I could go the gym yesterday. I am really sore today.
What I did:
Push ups - 2 x 4
Squat - 2 x 4 @ 95
DL - 2 x 4 @ 165
Row - 2 x 4 @ 75
Bench press - 2 x 4 @ 85
Assisted pull up - 2 x 4 - 100 assist
Assisted dip - 2 x 2 - 100 assist
Hanging knee raises - 2 x 4
I am starting to get bored of being at home. I am signing Theo and I up for a fitness class that starts in January so that'll keep us busy.
My new hobby is entering contests. I won a $50 gas card today. Woo hoo! I have 3 courses that I am taking that start in January as well so the winter should be OK.
Here's hoping Theo starts napping for more than 12 minutes at a time! Sometimes he will sleep 45 but its not regular.Love others well, but love thyself the most

It is impressive, how the body can bounce back from pregnancy. Great job getting it!

Happy holidays to you too, dreahere (is your name Andrea? I don't want to assume) and Erica!
I have decided to stop doing the sets of 12. My new gym philosophy is - If I dread it, I don't have to do it.
So today was 8s.
Squat - 8x2 @ 85
DL - 8x2 @ 145
BB row - 8x2 @ 75
DB bench - 30s 8x1, and 40s 1 x 5 (yay)
DB shoulder press- 30s, 8x1 and 4x1
Assisted pull up - 55 lb assist - 3/4 - I just couldn't quite get to the top.
I am feeling really good about my squats. I have always been bad at them but I think starting so low has really helped me figure it out.
35 feet crab walk and 10 minutes on the bikeLove others well, but love thyself the most

He's doing really well! He has been practicing using his voice a lot.
Last week I didn't get into the gym but I did do 77 burpees on New Year's Day.
Today was good. I pulled my neck a bit doing the DLs - have to watch my form.
Push ups - 3x4
Squats - 2 x 4 @ 105
Dead lift - 2 x 4 @ 175
Row - 2 x 4 @ 85
Bench press - 2 x 4 @ 90
Hanging knee raise - 3 x4
Ass'd WG pull up - 1 x 4 with 100 assist
Ass'd dip - 1 x 3 with 100 assist

I was uber-impressed by this woman at the gym today. She was training a guy - had him on her back and was squatting him. Awesome! They also did wheelbarrow walks and she would drop one of his legs now and then and he would have to maintain balance. Great BW stuff.
Last Wednesday I finished my challenge did 100 burpees.
Today was mostly machines:
Lat pull down - 10 x 105 x 2
Leg curls - 10 x 120 x 3
Leg extensions - 10 x 135 x 3
DB Bicep curl - 30 lb - 2 x 4
DB Shoulder press - 30 lb - 2 x 6
I ran 5 intervals of 2 minutes at 6.2 mph between exercises
Horizontal leg press - 315 - 2 x 10
Roman chair leg raise - 2 x 3 and knee raise 1 x 6
We had some really warm weather and a lot of the snow melted so I went outside yesterday and harvested what was left in the garden. I can hardly believe that the carrots are still crispy!
