What's better ? Ab crunches or cable crunches ?

regular ab crunches gives me lower back pain. And when I googled ,i found people with similar issue when doing decline crunches. They also said that they switched to cable crunches . Are cable crunches effective as decline crunches ?? Do they hit same muscles ?? Also sometimes when I increase weight on cable crunches ,I find the weight is pulling me up!

I find Cable Crunches to be an effective alternative to normal crunches. I experience no lower back pain whatsoever doing them, but just make sure you focus on bringing your torso to your legs otherwise you'll use more of your triceps to pull the rope/cable down instead of your core. It's all about MMC with this exercise.
