Glad I'm not the only one doing this. I regularly skateboard after lifting. It's fun, I work up a sweat, and I'm challenging my muscles in ways different than the weight room while improving my balance. Many young folk are often surprised when they see me zip past on my cruising board.
Many older people are shocked that I can even keep my balance on one. Then I let them in on the fact I've been skating over 30 years, it sorta makes sense.
So to answer your question, yes, I believe skating has potential to be decent cardio.I am APOLLOS

Skateboarding can provide a good cardiovascular workout, especially if done at a moderate to high intensity for an extended period. However, it may not be as effective as running or other traditional forms of cardio for improving overall cardiovascular fitness.
Skateboarding can also be a good form of plyometric exercise, as it requires explosive movements and can help improve balance, coordination, and agility. However, it may not be as effective as more structured plyometric exercises that target specific muscle groups.
Overall, skateboarding can be a fun and effective way to get some cardiovascular exercise and improve overall fitness, but it may not be a complete replacement for other forms of cardio or plyometric training. It's important to find a balance that works for you and your fitness goals, and to listen to your body to avoid injury.

Yes, skateboarding can be a good form of cardiovascular exercise. It involves continuous movement and engages multiple muscle groups, which can elevate your heart rate and improve your cardiovascular fitness over time. Skateboarding requires a combination of balance, coordination, and strength, and the physical exertion involved can provide a cardiovascular workout.
When you skate, you're constantly pushing off the ground, propelling yourself forward, and using your leg muscles to maintain balance. Tricks and maneuvers often involve jumping, spinning, and quick bursts of intense movement, which further contribute to the cardiovascular benefits. The more intense and continuous your skateboarding session, the more it can contribute to improving your cardiovascular endurance.
Like any physical activity, the cardiovascular benefits of skateboarding can vary depending on factors such as intensity, duration, and your individual fitness level. To maximize the cardiovascular benefits, it's important to maintain an elevated heart rate for an extended period of time. This can be achieved through longer skateboarding sessions, incorporating hills or ramps to increase intensity, and practicing continuous movement without long breaks.
It's worth noting that while skateboarding can be a good form of cardiovascular exercise, it's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional or fitness expert to determine the most appropriate and safe exercise routine for your individual needs and fitness level. Additionally, wearing appropriate safety gear such as a helmet and pads is crucial to minimize the risk of injury while skateboarding.
