Hey DM, you are more than welcome to come along!
My lower back was really tight this morning. I have been foam rolling. Feeling the deads from Wed. I am looking forward to 2 rest days.
I did pull-ups before squats, thinking I may be able to eek out a few more. Only got 6 max. PR but my back was so tight couldn’t get 5 the second set. Oh well, there is always next week.

good pullups and squats there
and i least you tried on the 225 DL
A+ for effort!
one trick i use it use lots of smaller plates.
(try to keep my brain from mentally adding everything together)
i just say "its close, go pull it"
then i add it up after
i hope the cow tipping doesnt hurt the cows[][][][]===FREE AGENT===[][][][]

Was happy with the pull ups. The squats are just going to take work. My weak link is my knees and hips. So I think do some heavier and lots lighter and just go from there.
The 225 is 40 heavier than the 185. So I think will try again in a few weeks when I get to 5x5x195 or say 200. I really thought I could, but it just wasn't there.
I have been thinking about cow tipping a lot. I really don't think it is possible. They do stand around with their eyes closed, but I swear if you get anywhere near them they will pop those eyes open and Bert stare you. They really sleep laying down with their heads on their rump.
Thanks P. Pull ups are hard. But I am determined that I can master them dammit! Cause it is kinda fun to shame men into doing unassisted ones when they see a girl do them!
Thanks Lori. I was happy with the turkey curls as well. Hope you have a great weekend too!Spoon Barbell Club

Hey Maggie! The turkey curls are awesome. you should try them!!
Am I like the only one around here with no boobs? I would not ham smack you. At least you do chins, and I don't think they are really any easier. I don't know about leaving anyone in the dust esp after this am.
I woke up this morning tired and just kind of meh. Not depressed or anything just kinda, can I go back to bed now. The last couple weeks have been really busy. Building a house takes lots of time out of your day. Hopefully it will be done soon and we can move and then hopefully things will sort of calm down. Well not really, cause then summer will be here and that is our busy season. But I can take our busy season. So workout not so eventful today. There is always Wed right!

I think we all have those - I wish I could just go back to bed days - hope you are feeling better as the day progresses. It is amazing how much life circumstances (work, fam, crazy projects like building a house) can manifest themselves in physical ways.
I have found the secret is to keep at 'er (just like you are doing) but really respect a little down time (maybe a bit less intensity) when you are getting those feelings of being overwhelmed. In my running life, I found that those times during which I felt that way, I was much more susceptible to illness / injury if I didn't acknowledge and account for it.

Yes, my Mom is coming Wednesday. The kids have a 4 day weekend. So I am thinking hit it Wed, but just a light workout. And then maybe even take Friday off or next Mon. I have been pushing myself and can feel it. I don't want to not go, but just am not ready to tackle 190#DL's. Thanks for your .02 CC. Always appreciated!

Yes, I am having the ready for Spring blues.
Better workout today. I tried penally rows. I like them. I can see how you have to be careful of your lower back. I am not sure how you start these from the floor unless you have big wheels on. Maybe I will do some video checking around and see what I can learn.
Talked to a guy at the gym. He was doing dead lifts. No one does dead lifts there. He was doing 225 but only did like 4. He only did 5 at 185. So it made me feel good about myself. I know you shouldn’t compare to others but I was like, wow, that is heavy. Make sense?

Hey jj!! You've been getting some great work in (even when you feel a little meh about it!). I like the new dl/row warmup idea - sometimes in the early mornings it is so cold heading into the gym I really struggle to get warmed up. Might have to tack that on when I need a little more warmup time - its so easy to get bored and anxious when you're trying to warmup and ready to put on the big show haha
I'm really ready for spring and have been feeling pretty meh about cold weather and all lately too - I think it does really get to your frame of mind. Once football season is over I always go into a mini depression hahaPlease join me on my journey to find balance:

Hey MM! I love doing a compound movement after stretching for a warm up. I am thinking this one is better suited for dead day but I like it.
Me too on spring. But it is greening up here, the rye grass. I need to get the potatoes planted and the tomato plants are about 4" tall under lights in the shed. I love spring. Hopefully it is early this year. I am over the grey February!!Spoon Barbell Club

Awesome workout!! It's so incredibly exciting to see some of the exercises I do in there Hahaha! Did you like the barbell circles!?
MMm, I love planting things! Last year Stephen and I had a garden We made rows and planted a bunch of lettuce, and squash and just a bunch of stuff- it all grew like crazy and the squash took over the yard! They were climbing up/hanging off the trees and everything I'm going to miss going out there with a bowl this summer and making fresh salads and stuff all the time. Solid workouts JJ!!! Glad to see someone else giving pendlay rows a try. I LOVE THEM!!! (aimed at you hammerz). Nothing else hits the middle back like that exercise, when executed properly.
