I had a question pertaining to squat walkouts and bench holds.
Are these effective maneuvers to increase confidence for a newer powerlifter when essentially every workout you would be getting some sort of PR?
Not as a main focal point or even every week as dedicated time, but perhaps once or twice a month loading the bar up with more slightly more weight than your working max and just getting used to the feel. (with spotter on bench)
Would this be a waste of time?

Some will say total waste of time and some will say it helps. You'll just either have to do it or not and decide yourself if it helped or not.
