@supabeast1993 anytime my dude. Any questions, continue to ask away in this thread. Once you get your foot in the door and get that initial year of experience as a new nurse, it's all about finding what you enjoy and what's comfortable for you. As I had mentioned previously, I enjoy coming to work simply because of my friends/coworkers. The physical and mental stress is there daily, but working with them makes it all the better. Not only that, but I was very lucky to get a part time position which is pretty hard to get in the bedside setting. Having to only work two night shifts a week and having 5 days off is like living the dream as an inpatient nurse.
Definitely. When I was full time, I was working out at most 4 days a week, but usually 3 on average due to the work schedule. I normally like working out in the morning and it sucks to work out in the afternoon sleeping all day from the previous workshift and dealing with crowdedness and grogginess in the afternoon.

2 weeks left at my family med clinical and I'm done with grad school. Due to major personal slacking and partially COVID issues with getting clinal sites, I had to extend 2 more semesters (6 months) till now but it's nice to finally know I'm literally at the finish line. I get my degree and send out my school paperwork to take my FNP boards. Looking to take my exam mid-April and then putting in my 2 weeks after 7ish long years at bedside. Because of COVID, all nurses got a "market adjustment" and I ended up getting a $5.03 raise and there was a hospital wide bonus which was like another $450 (not much considering all the ch!t we went through the last 2+ years with covid but I'll take it all).

Yes, bump.
Slacked on my FNP boards but passed in mid-august. I dropped my two weeks the next day lol. Just started my orientation/training as a palliative and hospice NP and will start shadowing next week. Honestly, I never thought I'd jump from bedside nursing into this field, but figured I'd give it a shot and enjoying it so far. I'm actually surprised about this field in general and it is very inspiring and interesting. I guess it's because all I've known was bedside nursing. Office is my car and on average will be seeing 5 patients per day, but my area I'm covering is pretty local to me. The future is to have me seeing patients at a local hospital once the palliative program pulls through there which I'm hella stoked to do."Caring may occur without curing, but curing cannot occur without caring."

300k and 200k still not even close
Psych can bring in 12k a week if you do M-F with 16 follow ups a day average about $150/30 min follow up for a 99214+90833 . In order to hit that I need to schedule 20 follow ups though as 20% of patients no show or reschedule. Not quite there yet but I am 70% capacity now in 9 months being open.

How did you guys handle stress and anxiety as new RNs?
I’m nauseas as soon as I wake up, the ride to work, most of the morning.
Think about work on my days off. It’s only my first week of orientation.. lol
Am I just being a pussy? Had epic orientation the last 2 days and that was a lot wow.Toxic Male Energy

Spravato (generic name: esketamine) is a prescription medication used for the treatment of treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and major depressive disorder (MDD) with suicidal ideation or behavior. It's important to note that Spravato is a relatively new medication, and its long-term effects are still being studied. If you are considering Spravato as a treatment option, it is crucial to discuss its benefits, risks, and suitability for your specific situation with a qualified healthcare provider who can provide personalized guidance and monitor your progress throughout treatment.

I had a little panic attack every single day when I got to the elevator of my first job. I'd say it lasted two weeks.
Didn't have that again for 7 years when I started in the ICU this month. There is so much more responsibility and sicker patients in the ICU compared to step down that it hit me hard. But no panic attacks, just a little anxiety and it's mostly gone now.Eat Right. Lift Heavy. Be a Fat Manlet.
