Bruh. I just had it 2 days ago. It was going pretty well with chatting with the students and taking the written test until I went in to the actual 1on1 interview then it became hit or miss. Now I have serious doubts and am hoping I get a call back from another school I applied to. I'll hear back in 6 weeks. FML the waiting is killing me. 15 spots, 35-40 interviewees. ****e.

Wishing you the best, though. The not knowing what happens next is the worst.

One year down, one year to-go. Just finished six months at the hospital I want to work at in the ED doing scheduling. Quit that MF'ing job and now I'm a tech on the Med Surg floor. It was good to go in and meet all the doctors and ER staff. Having this experience makes me KNOW that I want to work in the ER. My only other choice I think right now might be mother-baby but..yah no. With the connections I've made I'm like 90% sure I'll get into the nurse residency program and get on boarded into the ED.

Also unrelated, best nursing shoes?! The 12's on my feet do a number. I bought some dansko's in a wide width but I wore those earlier this week and they are still too narrow, so I just bought ANOTHER pair in a wide width a size up.
Check out my supplement log for Gaspari's Size On!

Is it really RIP? I'm not the only one who was told 4-6 weeks. The director said it's the 1st interview day so it would take awhile. I know for sure there's an interview day in September then October.

    30 spots. That's a pretty large program.

EDIT: And FWIW after Googling I see there's precedent for this program taking long (3 months) to accept people.

Sanitas is better than Dansko in terms of quality. I've had both. Sanitas actually used to make Dansko, but then they split and the quality withered.

Danskos or any clog shoes in general make me cringe, especially when I see guys wearing them. Nikes or bust.

Not saying that you're not getting in, but why the fuk would they interview over three months as opposed to a weekend (my program)? The timeline is also weird. That program is going to call the August candidates 4-6 weeks after interview, but they haven't even interviewed the October candidates at that point. What if the interviewees in October wreck those who interviewed the sessions prior? That makes no sense to me. But what do I know? I put my eggs in one basket and got in, so I don't know how other schools work.

The whole timeline I'm seeing for this school seems appropriate considering others' (including current students') past experiences. And all in all I applied mid April, didn't hear back from them until JULY for an interview 6 weeks later. Now I'm expected to wait another 4-6 weeks for a result. It all checks out. And fun fact: this school's whole process will have taken me 6 months from application to decision.

To answer your question as to why they interview over *at least* 3 months? I speculate because it's less exhausting for everyone involved and they really get to know you. To get through 4 applicants was 3.5 hours for them. Followed by an hour lunch maybe? Then another 4 people that day to round out an 8 hour day. That checks out to me. 40 interviews with 8 people each month gives them literally until the end of the year to complete the cohort. Online classes start in January and the program starts in April. Again, still kind of checks out *in theory*.

Yes, the timeline is weird. In 6 weeks they'll have interviewed August and September peeps (around 16 people?) and will begin filling the 15 seat cohort. I don't know if they have a quota like trying to fill 3 seats each interview day? Again, speculation for the next 6 weeks. In regards to October wrecking earlier applicants, maybe interviews are first come first serve which isn't farfetched. I've had schools say it's better to get in an app sooner rather than later. Or maybe they looked at all the interviewees and tried to schedule the strongest candidates first. Both avenues seem legit. Does this make sense to you? I can tell you put your eggs in one basket. You got lucky.

Where is your program located? Here on the East Coast things are often different.

So there are separate deadlines to turn applications for each interview date? Seems weird to me, but I'm just a nurse. I don't know anything

From what I previously understood, you applied for either an August, September, or October date and each one had it's own separate deadline and you were sorted out into those dates based on when you turned in your app in. I re-read and I guess they separate you based on how early you turned your app in. Idk, reading comprehension's off. Probz not gonna make it in CRNA school. SICU life 4 lyfe.

How’s my health care brehs doing tonight? I’m putting in an 16.5 hour shift tonight, and will be on call during my resting time(7.5 hours before getting up early to start the day over).

Got another 2 hours left before my shift is done and my stand by begins.

Lucky for me I got the new post Malone album and the astroworld on shuffle in my Dept.

Shouts to my health workers working right now. Money don’t sleep and neither does the delivery of health care. Let’s get it!!

No, no, no. You apply from April-July. And then they have interviews from August through October. I don't know how they choose who goes when. I was suspecting they choose the strongest candidates to interview first or they go by who applied the earliest. Some people had choices on when they wanted to interview. Others were just given a date. Good luck with your reading comprehension.

Income tax is wack. I had an experienced travel nurse tell me to get a lower hourly rate to maximize the stipends because the hourly is taxed and the stipends aren't. Gotta work the system mayne.

Sneeze on a patient and they'll break their pelvis. XD

fr breh, only so much one can do to lower taxable income. I think for anyone who has an employer that earns a handsome living starting some kind of business(needs to be legit of course) so they can maximize their write offs.

makes me think of the seniors who are just walking skeletons with skin over top of them.

Lol, I hooked up with a chick on my unit who hates me now and threatened to report me to my manager/HR if I spread rumors that I slept with her. I have to see her every week until I start school. You tell me which one's worse.

Good luck my brah. I hear CRNA school is very competitive, but once you make it through, mad $$$$$$$!

Aside from that, on my end I'll be done with my BSN in December then looking to go for NP next fall.

I'm not even thinking about the money. I'm more about lifestyle. And besides, there's a hell of a lot of work I need to do before I start making that money.

Regarding the interview I'm just trying to distract myself until I hear back from the program in 2-4 weeks with a decision.

Good job getting this far in your career. What NP do you want?

Definitely non-acute care. Although I'm only 3 years in on telemetry, bedside nursing is not something I want to do for life. I've always been interested in education so once I get my BSN, I'm gonna look into getting a clinical teaching job on the side. In regards to NP, I definitely want to work in a urgent care/clinic in the long run. Have a friend that did that full time and it was 4 days a week, 10 hour shifts. Manageable and at least its not a 9-5, 5 days a week. If that doesn't work, I may look into SNF nursing as well. Have another friend that's an NP and has about 150 patients spread across 3 SNF's. He said it's not so bad and it's nice to work from home in regards to charting and even answering calls/texts from nurses for orders. He definitely enjoys it way more than bedside and not having to deal with bedside/hospital nursing bullcrap we all deal with.

That's nice man. Absolutely nothing about NP appeals to me, but I commend people who know what they want.
