i just have to pass the nclex and i have a potential near 6 figure salary position waiting for me at my company. Not a traditional nursing job tho and it's m-f, 9-5 with a chance to get a raise to over 6 figures in another 6-12 months.

ok.. dilemma time guys... My folks want me to stay close to home and my BF is in the city where we went to school and just landed a job on the floor we both precepted in. My BF is awesome and says that he is willing to come to my town in a year and be with me after he gets some experience, but isn't opposed to me moving back to the town we went to school in either. He said he's cool either way. My parents on the other hand just can't let go. (only child crew checking in) so.. should I stay or should I go? i don't want to hurt my parents unnecessarily as I feel that after all they've done for me I owe them.. so I'm trying to please both parties by being closer to each, but not with either one as to not "pick" sides.. help

make sure you talk to nurse manager on any floor you do clinicals. Just applying online puts you in the pile of other apps. They can pull apps if they like you.
Its up to you. Depends on if you want to live in the same town you grew up for the rest of your life. Personally Id like to live in new areas. Parents will learn to adjust. Maybe compromise and say you will go back x amount of times a year.

Yeah just applied to a few places. What the one guy said about talking to nurse managers is great advice. Just walk up and ask them if they need nursing assistants. If they say yes tell them you're interested in the position.
Sounds like a good plan to me. You may even want to go to CRNA school sooner but you still have some time to decide. GL at your new job, update us with how your first few days go.-Miscs from phone 99% of time.

For sure mane. Jax isn't the best, but it's better than Richmond. You graduate from UNF? Once I hit the requirements, I'll consider applying for their CRNA program. Grad school close to home is rarely a bad thing. I may even apply for the RN to BSN completion program there because 3-4 more years here will probably be a drag.

Small talk is it brah. I'll give you an example. When US was playing Ghana in the world cup match recently, this girl at work told me she had a Ghana soccer shirt. I simply replied with 'is it tight, soft, and colorful like the official ones?' She paused... then said 'why don't you find out?'
That was confirmation that she wanted it. So I started being more aggressive. Now if she were to reply with 'haha I guess' or something like that, I would've kept it at small talk. What most brahs don't get is that you have to feel the situation out first. They think theres a secret way of talking that opens up the pussy gates for every girl or some chit. Nope.
She had no clue how to take it at first. And that's what you gotta do. Say chit that can go either way. It keeps the creep factor out, the innocent factor in, still HR appropriate with a lot of room to play with. Now this sloot ended up having a guy at home with a kid... I found this out after we almost fuked, but she was hesitant and that's why. Sloots gonna sloot, mane. I even felt her up... Feelsbadmen. Just do you and playfully small talk it up.Last edited by hxcstunna; 07-14-2014 at 04:34 PM.

Stay close to home. Your BF already said he doesnt mind, and that hes willing to move closer to you. If thats the case then he will live up to his word. IDK your plans for each other, but if marriage is in the equation then you only have a few years left to spend with your parents and enjoy time with them before you get married, which means that part of your life is over.
Only child crew checking in as well, and let me tell you Id live with my parents as LONG as possible and save that $$$$$ gnomesaiyan?

Sup brahs. I'm currently 21 years old applying to a local CC RN program. I have all my prereqs done and then some. So I literally just have barebones nursing classes left. I'm finishing a short class to become a CNA and will be one by August.
My plan is to get my RN, work as one while getting my bachelors online. Puts me around 25 with a bachelors. Im scared of not being able to find a job with just an associates but I'm becoming a CNA so it should help.
After that I should be working in ICU for about 2 years and applying to CRNA school. So about 30 I should be done. However I heard things that CRNA School will now be 4 years? Instead of the normal 2? Cause if so I'm so ****ed and that's so demotivating..
