Stat rape laws are just some made up B.S., but I think the basic logic is that kids are basically the property/responsibility of the parents until they are age 18 (when they finish high school) at which point they are sort of like adults and now able to vote, smoke, buy cigarettes/porn, bang around with guys much older than them. I think the law is there so that old dudes don't creep/corrupt girls while they are still their parents property/responsibility. I honestly believe in my heart that if a body is fully developed, the female should be fair game. It blows my mind that a 15 ~ 17 year old isn't capable of making a choice if she wants to have sex, but she's capable and making other decisions like what college she wants to go to, etc.

The laws are so screwed up. In this country, we have 18 ~ 25 year olds who have sexual intercourse with a fully developed women (aged 15 ~ 18) and the police literally raid their house. Tax payer money going towards breaking down the door of a person who is allegedly having sex with a minor. Not to mention, that person usually becomes a sex offender and has to register with the sex offender list. Say goodbye to your life. This is all for what? Protecting children? Give me a break. EDIT: I'm not talking about forcible rape... That's obviously not okay, etc. You get what I'm trying to say.
