In that case, it actually may be a mix of nitrates and dehydration.

If you are like me, it's the agmatine that's doing it. IDK how or care, but that's what I pinpointed it as. Headache with hemoval, I stopped went away. Month or 2 Later, powder pure agmatine, same headache. Few weeks later SNS agmatine caps......same headache. I have taken things with nitrates ect and only ever had the headache on agmatine.

You may be sensitive to increasing arterial pressures. Try a lot more water from possible dehydration with GMS.

This is my guess as well. With Hemavol added in, the GMS will pull water into the muscle cells, so you really need to be drinking a lot of water. The more the better

This is an *ancient* thread, and I hate to bump it.... but it's the only place I've seen that has mentioned the headache side affect. It's kinda like a cross between a hang over and a migraine, but not really.

At 500mg of AS - I get a headache and the next day is 'meh'.

At 1000mg of AS - headache is worse and next day is beat up.

At 2000mg of AS - just completely wrecked / destroyed for 2 days.

Despite the negative reaction to it - it does end up yielding an improved pump vs no supplement. It's a bit more acute / immediate than CM, but I wouldn't say as enduring. Then again, maybe the headache and such is causing conflicts/problems.

As an aside, AAKG and citruline malate don't destroy me like AS does. I'm not a body builder - just a joe schmoe with an every other day 60-90min full body set of 5x5-ish routines seeing slow and steady progress.

Well, agmatine dilates blood vessels, so it lowers blood pressure. Glycerol monostearate works by pulling water into your muscles, increasing blood pressure. So you really gotta pinpoint whats' going on. If agmatine by itself gives you a headeache, you might just need to have a little extra salt in your meals so your blood pressure doesn't bottom out so hard. If it's the glycerol then you gotta drink more water and maybe a little more potassium from potatoes or orange. Now if every time you get a headache with either one, and you're staying well hydrated, then I'm guessing those supplements just probably aren't for you.

In 2 or 3 days, I'll give AS another go at the gym. I'll bring my BP monitor as well and get some readings to pass along along with more info about water intake etc. I'm fairly certain my BP isn't bottoming out too hard, especially since other arginine-ish supps don't wreck me.

Looking over the BP machine, the day after the 2000mg AS at the gym - I had BP of 115/75 with a 45-50bpm heart rate. These numbers are about par, but the heart rate was 5-10bpm low (my average is 55bpm even here at the office).

Concerning water - I typically drink a 2/3's of water a day or more. On gym days, it's prolly closer to 4/3's.

Be back in a couple days to fill in numbers and how bad the headache is heh.

This. I would try either spacing them out more or trying to use seperate. See if this works and you should have a better idea of why this is happening

It'll be a couple more days. Last week of gym has been getting progressively worse. Two days ago: Back was upset during leg presses, causing me to not finish all the sets (herniated disc). Ankle was sore, so couldn't do more than a set of calf raises. Elbows were sore so couldn't do ANY parallel bar dips at the end of the routine.

So, gonna listen to the body and take a couple days off (tonight was gonna be the AS test with blood pressure machine in tow).

To follow up with a tiny bit of maybe useful info: 2500mg of CM and 2500mg of AAKG in the same drink do not leave me with a headache and I feel fine the next day. Granted, I dunno if AAKG is doing anything for me heh. The AS test is gonna just be AS and gatorade.

    Long ass post.

No gym for three days. Daily supps during those three days was just a daily multi, creatine, shark cartilage, turmeric, and boswellia. The last three I've been taking for years to help with my back (and yes, it works for me, and no I have no side effects to speak of).

Yesterday did the test. Yes, I ended up with a headache. Yes, I still feel a bit of it today.

    On gym day:
    Vitamin regimen above
192 ounces of water (including what was in preworkout and 3 protein shakes)
    2 8oz decaf coffee's
    1/2lb burger and fries
80oz of diet soda (about twice my normal, spread out over several hours)

my preworkout was 2 + 2/3 tbspoon of gatorade powder and 1100mg of agmatine sulfate in 32oz of water
oh, and 4 girl scout cookies just cause heh

Blood pressure / heart rate readings throughout the day at work:
    127/81/65
    132/77/65
    119/79/66

I drink the preworkout over the course of 5-10min.
    141/81/68
    wait another min
    134/87/74

20min drive to the gym. change clothes, rest 1 min.
    138/93/80

Do some warm up stretching. Towards the end of the stretching face starts to feel warm / blood shot.

Do 10min of warm up cardio. The headache starts to begin.

Back to locker room, rest for 1min.
142/89/87 - feeling a bit meh (AS + not having a normal preworkout heh)

Do all the warm up reps and do a group of sets (stripper sets with 30sec rest)

Back to locker room, rest for 1min.
    133/84/98

Do two more groups of sets (includes leg work). de-plate and wipe down stuff.

Back to locker room, rest for 1min.
    134/79/88

Two more groups of sets to finish resistance part of day.

    5min rest. mild headache continues
    129/80/74

Change, shower, swim for 20min. Hot tub for 10-15min. Relax for 5min.
    Change, 1 min rest.
    121/77/87

Get home, eat. couple hours later:
    128/78/71

Wake up today. Bathroom. Glass of water. Rest 1 min
    119/74/53

    Mild headache continues.

    -------------------

    So no, BP isn't tanking.

I'm glad I didn't try 2000mg of AS . I assume the BP increase around time of pre workout is just part of a natural psych up for the gym. I can't recall if the face flush is normal for vasodilators & me or not. The fact that I wrote it down is prolly important.

Try having sex after u feel the headache. If it relieves the headache its the supplement rushing blood to ya head.

I take Sp 3.0 and get painful back pumps. It has Agmatine. No headaches tho. Sure its not the C4s energy blend? I mean its not much for pumps. They use Arginine AKG and sum nitrates.
