The 12 1/2 Yorks are interesting too. The Weiders may be from the 60's. Anything with pounds and kilos is probably 70's or newer.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Yes, the 1 1/2 were one sided with a B stamped on the back rim and an N at opposite side of the B marking, the 3 lb plates were the same as well as the 5's 7.5's all the way up to the 35's. I hope this helps.

Here is a pic of the 1st and 2nd gen weider plates. The 1st gen didn't have anything on the back. 2nd gen had a "B" casted on the back. Starting in the 60's they went to a two sided plate. 1st gen is the only Weider plates I collect unless it's a 1.5 then will get any era.
1.5's
Weider even had a 3 lb plate that had a built in collar...

Are you sure the B doesn't mark the plate as part of a pair? I have a pair of old Healthways 1.25lb plates. One has the Healthways brandname on it but is totally plain on the other side. The 2nd plate has the identical "1 1/4 LBS" imprint on it, but lacks the brandname, and has a "2" stamped on the backside. I always guessed the "2" was put there to mark that plate as being the 2nd plate out of a pair. Maybe the A and B were put on Weider plates to mark them as a pair.

The B doesn't mark it as part of a pair. The B was something they added to the 2nd gen plates in the 50's. Rest of the plate was the same as the 1st gen.
Are these the 1 1/4's you are referring to? The one without the brand on it was most likely just a generic plate but made at the same foundry as the healthways. I have both of these style plates in 10 lb & under. The numbers stamped on the plates were something that probably meant something to the workers at the foundry but doesn't mean it was the 2nd plate or anything. The 1 1/4's I have without the brand on them have a 3 & 6 stamped on the back. I have seen York plates have 1-6 stamped on them

lefthook323: a FEW indeed. When Bur Barbell closed up shop in the late 60s Roberts Barbell bought and used the Bur patterns.
