Need a new backpack for school, set on a Herschel, stuck between burgundy and black, although I don't know if the burgundy comes off as a little bit too flashy? Oh and I'm buying them ripstop material because I hear the canvas ones are really fragile and break easily.
Or the exact same bag but in black...
I think the burgundy would be a little bit more unique, what would you guys choose?

just got back from Loehmanns, nice littel sale going on, plus a local radio station was outside the store giving out 20% off the entire store coupons. I ended up getting the blazer, shirt and pants from this photo, all for $70

I'd probably go with the black because it's more versatile and matches more stuff. FYI, the ripstop material is really strong so you can throw it around and it'll be fine. I tried that bag out but it was a bit too big/bulky for me but it does have a nice laptop sleeve spot thingy. I'm still looking for a more "fitted" backpack lol.Originally Posted by Rigour

I don't know about the Herschel quality though... especially on their canvas and leather. I personally went with Jansport. They have been making quality for awhile and actually guarantee their product.

Unfortunately, even carrying just moderately heavy but ordinary items such as books and water bottles, one of the straps has started to rip away from the bag.
