Got the nebula sold and set up the new one today. I am really happy with it so far. Two thumbs up for the ProMaxima crossover.

Hey OSU, the Promaxima looks good there, but I noticed Yorks vintage 45's in the background on a calve machine, what other goodies have you gotten recently, lol. I appreciate the photo's btw. Will rep when they let me .

I got 10,000 lbs of plates from a local college and about 1500 of them were Yorks. I swapped out all my other plates for those. I also have some old school 45 lb York bumpers from the same haul. I just updated my own thread with a bunch of pictures and list of a lot of the changes I have made.
Nothing is impossible.

My Rogue Operator Bar and HG collars just arrived. Can't wait to get home and try it out tonight.
Note about Rogue CS...they were out of standard Rogue Bars and offered to upgrade me to the Operator Bar for free. Yes, I know it's the same bar with a nifty coating but still a nice gesture.
Bar arrived from Columbus to my office in Ontario in two days. Gravy.

Picked up some commercial olympic bar (guy said it was a Texas Power Bar, not sure how to identify), EZ-curl bar, two olympic dumbbells, and the following York plates:
45 x 2
25 x 4
10 x 8
5 x 4
2.5 x 12
as well as four olympic collars and two quick plastic collars all for $100.

On that note, anyone have an idea of the olympic barbell? Here are some close-up shots attached.

The seller also had a body solid power rack with lat pull down and weight storage for 120 but i didn't have the money with me to get it... Hopefully something like that will come up again. Seemed like a real good guy too.

I'm pretty familiar with the TPB and although the collar flange looks close in width and the centre knurl looks about 4", I've never seen that end cap before.
In the spirit of the thread... I picked up this Powertec rack 2 days ago for $150 and gave it a new paint job. Sorry for the crappy quality lighting and iPhone photo/

Wow thats a great looking p-tec.
How did you paint it and what paint did you use? Spray, roller, brush, etc...
I might do mine, I really want a red rack.[]---[] Equipment Crew #6 []---[]

Well, I got this stuff yesterday, not today:
Finally a pair of York 35s:
Body Solid kettlebell rack (already had the kettlebells and dbs):
Powerblocks (to replace the pair I got rid of that I should have kept):

Thanks! It was a project I underestimated. The rack was mostly disassembled so I thought if ever, now is the time. I bought 4 cans of Rustoleum Apple Red (I wanted tremclad "Fire Red" but they only had 3 cans at Home Depot). I ended up going back for 5 more cans. The biggest issue was the prepainted pin marker numbers, they just would not cover which required 17.4 million coats of paint. This was a black rack with white numbers.
If I were to do it again (and I will), I would mask off all 4 sides of all of the uprights where the pins are and coat that section in black truck bedliner spray.
I really like the rack and its very solid for what I expected in a $150 kijiji pick up. I ditched the pull up horns. I really don't like the J-hooks. I wasn't a fan of the safeties either at first but they have pins you can lift off and use as a second set of hooks so I guess they are ok.Last edited by GarageIron; 10-03-2012 at 08:30 PM.

Wow, 9 cans of paint is brutal. Im having second thoughts.
I like my p-tec but kind of want to upgrade to something different in red, but I might try to paint mine I just cant handle doing 9 cans, hahahah.
What I did was I put the brace part that curves up what you have on the front that holds the pull-up horns, I removed the horns and put that part on the bottom rear brace. So the rack has a bit more depth now at least for my feet and bench.
Congrats on the deal though 150 is an excellent price. I agree j-hooks on it arent that good and the finish gets messed up when you rack the bar. Plus they ruin the knurl on my TPB, but at 150 you got a steal for that rack, enjoy.[]---[] Equipment Crew #6 []---[]

Nice pickups this week. That red ptec is sweet.
Good finds Animal, isn't it funny how you miss the powerblocks once they are gone? As soon as I shipped mine away I regretted getting rid of them. I miss mine so much now but I'll never buy them again unless I get them for an absolute steal. My training log:

*shrugs*
Your measurements are the same as my TPB. My sleeve pins are 1 inch inside the ends (the same spot as your end cap joint). I'm not eirely familiar with the old TPB's.. I wonder if it could be an early model, as everything else is the same and that end cap isn't exactly a manufacturing shortcut for a cheap clone.
It's a pretty cool bar either way.

You bought a chest-hair-puller-outer lol
FYI you can get new vinyl pretty cheap at most fabric/craft stores. all you need is a heavy duty hand stapler to put it down.[]---[] Equipment Crew Member No 7
