Thought I would start this thread for people to show off their recent/latest purchases. Could end up being a great scource of dirty, filthy, gym pr0n.
Note to BB.com noobs; you need 50 posts to show pics. Once you have 50posts, this is the code you need to use to embed the pics:
I'll kick it off with my purchases today (flipped my old eleiko set for all this + cash- I got the weights, the Mrs got the cash  ) .
180kg of milled Body-power plates to add to my collection.
18 fractional plates (little gems). Anyone familiar with Stuart Mcroberts book 'Beyond Brawn' will have seen these in there. The are made by Watsons Gym Equipment, laser cut and stamped. A quick scrub to get the oil off and they are beautiful.
The plates arrived with the usual grease, dirt and rust patches. I wire brushed the rusted areas and cleaned off with WD40. This is my 2 year old son demonstrating how to get WD40 off plates.![]()
This will probably be my last post in here for a while as money is gonna be a little tight over the next few months, but it will be nice to see what you guys are picking up.![]()

Thanks Skid, I'm chuffed to bits with them. The guy I did the swap with got a good deal on them so he was able to do the same for me. This is where they are originally from (prices don't include 20% tax); http://www.gymequipment.uk.com/store...ght_Set_1.html
Watsons make some great equipment similar to Elite FTS. Its all heavy duty British steel, and British manufacture. The plates are cut from bright steel so no coatings to scratch or chip. The pics don't do them justice. My training log:

They look great, and it's good to see you getting the kid started out right!
We'll have to get Northernmoris to show off the Ivanko revolvers he picked up on Friday for dirt cheap!

Yes!
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

That was a great buy Moris. Its so unreal that quality plates like that go for such cheap prices over the pond. I wonder if the prices will rocket up over there like they did here a few years back. All the more reason to stockpile more.My training log:

You guys are lucky just to have the option of good iron second hand, even if its not always to budget . All we get over here is cheap chinese rubbish and everyone still fights over it.

I just got the Ivanko Cable attachments. Everything came in 4 boxes. I'll post a review once I've had the chance to use them for awhile.

I see a bright future for this thread, nice idea Protein. This should get stickied.
Anyway, I didn't get this stuff today, but over the course of the past 1 1/2 - 2 months. Also got my power rack a few days ago but I'll post that in my review thread. Not that a review is necessary, that thing's a monster and everyone knows it. lol. Enjoy.

@ Jackbravo, yep they kick the aris out of the york fitness 'fractionals'.
Nice buys DrF, must be nice to have a load of Wanko boxes turn up at your door.Nice kit choices.
I tryed repping you for your gym pics in the pics thread but I've been on spread all day.
Definatly don't sticky this thread!! ...otherwise no one will read it.
Feel free to post the rack in here after your review mate, this thread isnt here to replace any thread anyone plans to make on their own purchases. I just noticed that you have people posting in the equipment crew, York crew, Ivanko crew threads and if you don't follow those threads then you can miss some great pics of gear (for those of us that like that kind of thing).
Cracking plates mate. I think it means more to you when you have had to collect them over time- just ask Atty!My training log:

VERY true, it's like newbies are repelled by stickies Lol! Many silly questions xD.
Hell yeah. Nothing like some equipment pron! Sure I'll post a pic or two here, but don't want to waste too much space for other people's picsI swear you're gonna get a boner once you see my rack pics though - got tons of them and I'll put them up soon enough.
Also when you have to drive two hours roundtrip to get them. Yep he's got quite the collection too.

I do not have a lot of experience with GHRs so I do not have a lot to compare it to. I like it and I am glad I purchased it. It is easy to assist myself by pushing off the floor when needed. It is very stable and the angle of the pads seems to make it more difficult than some of the full sized GHRs. One of the guys I lift with that owns a GHR said that this version is much more difficult for him.
As for functionality I am sure you probably give up a few things with this. Although I have some boxes I could set it up on if I really wanted to. I like that it has a small foot print and I could even hang it on a wall out of the way if I wanted to. I may consider getting a full sized GHR at some point, but for now this is plenty. I will add that I have a 45 degree extension so I did not plan on using the GHR for back extensions anyway.

do the pads "angle down" like on the elite fts, or are they parallel with the foot holder?
