Got me a set of Grado / Allesandro MS-1 with full ms1000 mods and custom wooden cups hand made by a guy on head-fi.

The Ms-1 is pretty cheap, like $120. The cups and the spacers for the ms1000 mod were $150 or so, and the damn foams I got 'cheap' for $40 or so. I can see if i can find the guy who makes the grado cups. I will PM you if I do.

about yeah. when you consider the fact that you spend 2-3 hours daily to wind down after a busy day at work, they're worth every penny. I'd happily spend more if I had to. I've had people tell me i'm insane with my money when they own 50 different pairs of shoes ranging from between 80-200 dollars a pop.

many people spend upwards of 2 grand for a laptop that will lost nearly all its value in 3 years. If i were to sell some of this stuff in 3 years time, they would still hold 75%+ of retail value as a 2nd hand product. Unlike most electronics, flagship headphones and audio equipment technology isn't developing at blistering rates, with vintage valve amps and headphones like the qualia 010 and r10 selling for 2x their original value when first introduced to the market.

What is your setup there? I have a pair of Grado Sr80i's and GS1000i's. (srs, posted a pic before)

GET ONE although schitt is coming out with the mjolnir so you might want to wait for impressions on that. Woo's also coming out with WA7 for introductory price of $777 as an amp/dac combo which i think runs cheaper than the schitt combo. dunno if it can drive orthos as well though but looks smexy as fuark

I do have a high end pair of headphones, but I am still an audio noob...

The only thing I have right now is a FiiO DAC.
