it digests very quickly and is absorbed by the muscles shortly thereafter (as opposed to creating coagulation in eggs and slower digestion when consuming them cooked)

I read a thread on egg whites about a month ago and picked some up at the store. I have been making a shake with 16 oz egg white 8 oz pineapple juice and 1 cup oats in the morning. It tastes great and saves tons of time since I don't have to cook the eggs or oats.

There's almost no taste to the egg whites. I imagine there are a ton of recipes you can use for shakes that will taste great.

It's only $1.50 per 16 oz carton at sam's club. around ~50 g of protein.

cheaper than buying high quality whey, not real eggs. but you can't drink raw egg whites from a whole egg without serious risk of getting sick. so the value is in the convenience in time saved as well as safety.

downed 16oz easily. taste fine. i had gas from hell for a couple of hours srs. had it on an empty stomach, not sure if that could be the reason. my stomachs fine with cooked eggs

Coles has them in the freezer section. IF you live near the Ascot coles I can tell you exactly where.

Pure protein, of the highest quality. Get the pasteurized ones in the carton. Tastes exactly like milk, but a little thicker (serious).


And if you're concerned about the bio-availibility (you shouldn't be anyways but), read this...


For those who don't/have never had liquid egg whites:
-they are ~24g protein per 8 oz (1 cup)
-they taste like thicker milk
-great way to jack up the protein content of your shakes
-will sometimes give your farts a unique smell (not necessarily a bad odor, just unique)
-most people are fine stomach wise, usually only if protein shakes already give you stomach issues then so will liquid egg whites
-at the very least, try them out and see how you like them. $3 for a carton which has over 100g of protein

Wow, that post you quoted is one of the most asinine bits of broscience I've read in a looooooong time. Sorry, I'll trust professional studies that use radioactive isotopes to trace bioavailability and how much protein is absorbed in cooked vs raw eggs, thanks.
