    Thumbs down Alcohol & Weight Training,

    Does having the odd few pints a week hinder weight training?
    If so in what way?
    i am keen on training but also keen on drinking when it comes to the weekend?
    should i cut the booze out alltogether?

    alcohol has too many empty calories and can reduce testosterone levels, "a few pints" a week however can be benificial, as long as it is just a few pints. I myself have about 15 a week lol when it comes to cutting or when i stop getting good results ill have to lower that alot.

    collage is where all the binge drinking occurs! And I must have read something wrong cause a "pint" is like 10-12 shots of vodka (or rum or whatever) here. And if you are having a few of those a week you will most likely die, muscles will be the least of your concern

    i don't mean dont drink ever, I just mean on a fairly regular basis. Obviously my financial situation is different then yours.

    Go to a bar, and see how fast 20 bucks goes by. regular beer is pretty cheap tho, i'll give you that.

    yea ur right man, ever time i go tthe bar i wake up with zero dollars in my wallet...but i always have a good time. i think u can get 50 shots out of a handle...1.75 litres=50 ounces about..50 shots

    A pint is a measurement of volume. Doesn't have to be vodka. Most people mean beer when they talk of pints.

    i think for overall health you should have some where around 6 beers or 6 shots just to clean out your arterys. On the other hand it wouldn't hurt to take a couple of weeks to go "dry" just to try to bulk up.

    I quit awhile ago. Alcohol and me are a bad combo.

    Anyway, it lowers your testosterone, is full of empty calories, and dehydrates you. Definately not good for someone trying to build their body.
