    Are stabilizer muscles just a myth?

    Stumbled upon this article on another site

    Who ever wrote the article talks about how stabilizer muscles are just a myth. Is he speaking some truth or is he just an idiot?

    didnt read, but most people really have no idea what the stabilizer muscles even are and are just regurgitating crap they heard from someone else.

    there are stabilizers but they don't work exactly like people think they do.

    EX. some people falsely believe that DB press doesn't lead to as much direct chest stimulation as BB press does because DB press uses more "stabilizers"

    The author is not saying stabilizers is a myth...he is saying stabilizers are not small muscles. They are big muscles (quads, hamstring, chest, shoulders, etc.) that are recruited in coordinnation to produce a movement and the best way to work them is through heavy compounds (squat, bench, over head press, etc.) rather than weird and ghey exercise (bosu ball squat). And I tend to agree with the author

    Big John is a really smart guy. Article is pretty much spot on. Worrying about stabilizers if you don't play a sport is pretty dumb. If you are just looking for physique goals you could probably go out of your way to eliminate all stabilizer involvement and not see a slowdown in gains lol.

    S/he's just saying that stabilization is done by regular muscles and there aren't specific tiny "stabilizer muscles", pretty easy to understand lol

    so your back is just made of regular muscles that also aid in stabilization of the body during curls
