i donate blood as often as i can and have been on the organ donor register as soon as i could sign up.
My dad had a heart transplant 2 years ago and he is so much better. iv seen first hand how important this is. before it he couldn't walk 10m and now hes swimming and walking fine during the transplant he lost so much blood, so blood donations were a major part of his recovery.

I donate blood every time there's a blood drive at work and I'm an organ donor. I don't really understand why more people don't donate.
I've heard the argument that doctors are just going to let me die for the sake of donating my organs but it seems kinda conspiracy theory-ish to me.** Current Maxes: **

Been giving blood since I was 17. Think Im about to hit the litre or gallon mark er whatever. The Vampires are always calling me because Im O+. Yes their number is saved on my phone as "Vampires." I used to be squeemish of the needles so I maned up and forced myself to watch them stick the needle in my arm and watch the blood leave me. >: ) *psycho moment over* They always miss my vein and adjust the needle in my arm, but I keep going back to them.
Also never understood the, not wanting to be an organ donor thing. If Im dead then I dont exactly need them anymore. Maybe like that one movie, I can live on through the lifes of the people that takes my organs.......
Edit* for maximum creepy faceEver since I was a child I have had this instinctive urge for expansion and growth. To me, the function and duty of a quality human being is the sincere and honest development of one's potential.

Good to hear for your father, it proves donations are extremely important.
Well, you're a bit right on the conspiracy theory. No doctor in the world is going to let a patient die for their organs, proof of that would be an extremely large malpractice lawsuit. They aren't going to just let a patient die, and they aren't going to just ask for your license or ask if you are a donor, there are many different people you need to go through before you can donate the organs after death.
Glad you're a donor.
