Took a vid for a form check. Here is a screen shot of the squat courtesy of Flounder. 335 on the bar and depth looks ok. Anyone that follows my little journal knows my struggles with squats.
Happy Thanksgiving!☻/

Busting it to get better, I’m not able to deadlift or squat yet, but I have been busy doing work to restructure all the joints that have gone out of whack from too many years in a chair and on crutches, it’s surprising the structural changes that the body makes when you can’t do much, atrophy is a nasty thing and seems to remove muscle memory too.
Here I was doing straight leg dead lifts 242 lbs, four sets of ten. Not much really but you can see how much smaller my left leg is compared to my right. I’ve been working on restructuring and improving strength and blood flow in the left for a couple of years now, and I am still strengthening myself so I can squat again. It’s a long road, but the crutches are going early next year, I’m so determined to beat this.
Any way I’m shattered from that workout there was more than the straight legs, but it was all a bit nancy for on here (side lunges and Bulgarians and the like ), watch it ID and Flex I’m chasing after your heavy lifts , (Cmoore I think you are pretty safe ).Last edited by Neptunus; 11-28-2013 at 03:04 PM.

Ok, so been at it for a full month now at 4 times a week. Logging all I eat and cutting out all the beer and good stuff
Weight has gone from 211 to 216 and using the calipers with tables I have gone from around 20% to 15% - mainly the beer gut skin fold has decreased and my round face is finally
starting to look like myself again.
Took these today (apologize for bad quality on some):
Bad symmetry but not sure if it's me not knowing how to flex both sides?
I will keep going - thanks for the inspiration you all bring in this thread!

Second half of back day,
Freaks me out a bit seeing how little the little leg is in these pictures, I’m working on it though. Well I can’t dead or squat but I can certainly row, this was 154lb for four sets of ten, that was after what I call my walk down which is.
Chainsaws, or to me bench rows
110 by four sets of ten
99 by two sets of ten
88 by two sets of ten
77 by two sets of ten
66 by two sets of ten
That's when the Medows come in
Then it’s on to low cable rows for four sets of ten, 220lbs (must get some chains or something to drape over the stack)
Barbell Shrugs farting about with 242lbs by four sets of ten
Farmers carry 66lbs dumbbells (This one is more about activating legs on back day)
And finally back extensions with a 44lb plate usual 4 sets of ten
I want to add more but I have a bugger of a time keeping the two back workouts of the day under two hours each.
By the way I can't thank you personally because it doesn't tell me who posted the comment when I have been repped, but thank you so much for your support, you guys and girls just get me fired up so much with your well wishing.
What a great community!!!Last edited by Neptunus; 11-29-2013 at 04:19 AM.

Excellent job - you sure got the back width going there.
So what else is new
How do you manage to hold that much food? I was in physical pain all evening and I certainly wasn't 2000-4000 over my norm.Peace: Lift Long and Prosper!

I rarely pluck up the courage to post in here, but made a 1RM this morning after massively struggling with squat form and depth for ages so thought I would stick it up in here...

I hope you don't mind a little unsolicited constructive criticism......but you are leaning forward before you even start your descent, and it gets worse from there.
Don't look down or tilt your head down when you unrack the bar. Keep your head in a neutral position, back straight and tight and shoulders back.
If you do that you've got 300 or better right now. That was half a good morning.
Props for posting a vid.Insta: flexjs

Warrior spirit. I am confident you will exceed your goals.
You are progressing well, steffo. Nice.
The man
Incredible, cmoore.
Nice effort, flounder. What Flex said and arching your back more may also help your form. Might want to reduce the weight and perfect the form. Keep posting the vids. It's how we learn and progress.

There ya go, bodyhard. A couple of decent progress pics. I'll get better ones once I get a decent camera.
