Alright brahs, I'm going for it.
I've sat on an invention idea for 6 months. Outside of brainstorming and coming up with other relative assets for this product and the product name, I hadn't really started.
Well, that's coming to an end. I have sketched up a few drawings and wrote a business plan.
I came into contact with two reputable prototype companies. They range from making the actual product with manufacturers to helping out patent searches. I'm currently exchanging emails with them about details. I will meet both companies in next week and pick who I want to go with based on price, ect.
I'm pretty excited about this. I spoke to a few close family members and they love the idea.
It feels pretty crazy to get the ball rolling. I believe I'm already ahead of 80% of the people with business ideas as I'm actually acting out on it.

I've come across a lot of big name financial and software companies hiring blockchain development type roles. Is it something worth pursuing? Currently working as a business analyst and want to develop my coding skills, along with some entrepreneurial ideas I've had. Is it worth learning C++, Java, etc.
That said, there are certain specific skills that are beneficial.
Polyglot software engineers - those able to code in a number of languages - are preferred. Knowledge of Java and C++ appear as a requisite in many job listings, for instance.
Zeth Couceiro at specialist technology recruitment firm Opus says: “They are normally tech stack agnostic, they just need strong programming skills - ideally someone who has programmed in two languages in conjunction or is comfortable with multiple languages and large datasets.”
An understanding of cryptography is useful too. “Interestingly, people [who have worked for agencies such as] GCHQ or people with strong cryptography backgrounds make good [blockchain developers].”Last edited by roko79; 08-09-2016 at 07:02 AM.

just created a thread in the normal misc. the goal is to help you offer your products/services etc. to the misc and show how what you offer can help them. should get good feedback and if what you offer is valuable to the misc then it is mutually beneficial
Check out the thread here if interested : http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...post1456935363Strong join date to number of posts ratio...

Who here does graphic design, I need a vector logo done. You need to be able to bring an idea or a sketch to life.

Seems like I'm opening up a dead thread here, but here it goes:
Hi Misc,
I really enjoy this thread. Together with two partners we have been working on a "smart meeting scheduling" tool called Plann3r. In short what it does is it "automagically" finds the perfect moment to schedule a meeting 1-1, with multiple people by taking into account your availability, location, travel time and timezones.
You can use it straight from your browser or through a NLP-enable Gmail plugin (you type "I want to meet somewhere next week in my office" and Plann3r autofills in the details so you just need to click send invite).
We just did a complete UI/UX redesign and imo it looks/feels great. Would any of you guys feel like giving it a try and providing me with all the feedback you can think of?
Would be greatly appreciated!
Peace.Flex.Love.
Ps: I can't post links, but I presume The Misc can figure it out.
Hint: It is called Plann3r.
Hint 2: you add a populair domain name extension

Alright brahs, onto the next startup.
This time, it's gonna be broad-spectrum enterprise data analytics. Big money in that ****, though a lot of market saturation. However, it's saturated with crap IMO. I wanna have a gander at making a node-based data science workflow like Unity's shader forge, but having big matrices of data flowing and transforming to and from algorithms and operations. You'll be able to build entire data flow graphs with a few clicks, visualizing it at each stage. Boys, I'm stoked. Going to get ahold of a P100 deep learning processor soon and get my BlazeDB stack stood up. Bring on the AI revolution baby.
