1. ## Math Help?

I am not asking for you to do the problem for me. But if you know its wrong can you explain where I went wrong? I know its easy math and I should be doing more studying but I lack willpower.

So here goes.

Rewrite the quadratic function in standard form by completing the square.
y = –x^2 – 12x + 3

-x^2-12x=-3
(-12/2)^2=(-6)^2=36
-x^2-12x +36= -3 +36
-x^2-12x=33
answer: x= -6 +- (sq rt) 33?

Find the vertex of the parabola associated with the quadratic function.
y = –(x – 15)2 + 7

Find the vertex of the parabola associated with the quadratic function.
y = –x^2 + 4x + 10

-(x+2)^2+14

v= (-2,14)

A rancher has 600 linear feet of fencing and wants to enclose a rectangular field and
then divide it into two equal pastures with an internal fence parallel to one of the
rectangular sides. What is the maximum area of each pasture?

Find the standard form of the equation of a parabola whose vertex is (–1.9, 6.1) and
passes through the point (–2.5, 6.406)

a(x+1.9)^2+6.1
