    What is the main difference between high and low bar squats?


    I high bar squat for the record, simply because it just feels more natural like that.

    I am going to take this advice. I get scared in the hole and fear getting stuck or even worse, having too much of a forward lean struggling to get up. It was total paralysis by analysis and was killing my strength. I seriously just told myself, "What the hell are you doing? You know how to effing squat. Just get under the bar and do it." Worked like a charm.

    Best advice I can give you is to get out of your own head and just squat. You know what to do. Just load up the bar and do it.

    Well who would beat down who is a good question with both have fighting backgrounds, Erick was a wrestler and I have a pretty long martial arts background (although out of practice)... background I might have the edge, but I also have balance issues medically and Erick knows this which could tip things back over into his favour. IDK who would win, but I would rather talk training with him over a 6 pack of German beer and a box... no make that two boxes... of pop tarts.

    I did BJJ for a little bit and I have dat dere retard strenf when it comes to lifting people. That combined with Jason's medical issues would give me a definite edge. With that said I hate fighting and I'd be down with Jason's plan. Just substitute beer with vodka and Pop Tarts with ice cream.

    Deal... I am good at fighting, but hate doing it. Vodka and ice cream is a reasonable compromise but only if you bring the pugs also.

    Bar position, sit back, foot placement, and to a lesser extent foot direction are very personal perference. If you are looking to squat the biggest weight possible, you'll need to experiment and see what turns you on the most. As a raw squatter, your quads will always be on, with wider / deeper sit backs the p.c. gets turned on more and more, but even in a high bar squat everything is working.
