I agree those aren't Pendalays bt who cares. Row is an exercise that you can get away with some English.

^^^^ I know you mentioned it already, but you're definitely setting down too light on the box. At that point, you might as well just squat without it since it seems like your using it for a form check.

Today's feed window was 4.5 hours. 2700 cals, only around 200g of protein though and fat around 50g. I lived entirely off bananas, apples, a fruity yogurt drink, a whey shake and BBQ chicken breasts (like 1.5 lbs of it... that accounted for 90% of my fat) and obscene amounts of diet soda.
Torn skin on the fingers treated and bandaged for faster healing for tomorrow's session. Not sure if I want to train heavy, do speed work or just some barbell complexes/light supersets. To be determined when I arrive there.

My wife has been telling me for months that my back is getting massive, I have not gotten a good look until those pictures. I was trying to stand relaxed too. In the afters I'll have to do a rear lat spread also. ;-)
I'll definately stick this out and honestly I'll either continue to cut or at least recomp after this contest is over as I don't think I can get as lean as I would like to be in months. I've set my mind to it.
For those following the log from the contest links, note that I am still doing primarily power training, with only a bit of what would be termed "hypertrophy training" on a serious cut.Last edited by JasonDB; 05-27-2012 at 12:22 PM.

Subbed, never realised how big you were til I saw your pics, vids look strong.
Btw i've seen this word thrown around recently and am dismally unaware, where does the term 'english' come from? I can gather what it means based on the context its used in, but i'm curious.BJJ / Greyskull LP log

I've been on it since New Year, I like it a great deal. Drop attacks (standard issue with Meneire's) during my fasted period are rare, and I find it easy to work with as a big eater in control over my intake... plus when I do get to eat I get to eat a lot and go to bed full.

BW: 230.3
Two days of heavy full body training in a row made today a conditioning day.
Workout:
Barbell complexs (crossfit trollololol)
Push press -> front squat -> RDL 115 lbs honestly this was exhausting... thought about videoing this but realized it might be a boring long video watching me superset high rep push presses, front squats and RDLs.
Biceps and calves (I might as well train calves again)... phaggy time bro-sculpting
Farmer's walks
Jammed this song for much of my training.
Awesome song if you listen closely to the story in the lyrics.

never tried this but in my gym the owner puts the W.O.D -workout of the day- on a whiteboard along with some random motivational quote and i've seen some guys doin it. Looks fuarkin exhausting cardio-wise, would honestly not attempt.
Funny though you see the degradation of form as the rounds go on and it becomes hazardous very quickly.BJJ / Greyskull LP log

If I had the money, I would honestly consider Crossfit 2-3x a week. It really seems like a matter of what box you go too. GM and Becky Rich, two lifters I look up to the most, both do or did Crossfit workouts regularly. Even Rippetoe had a Crossfit gym.
Anyway, complexes are no joke. Nice work!

Those barbell complexes were harder than my squat PR yesterday (srs). They really are no joke when you have not been doing them for a while. I used them for part of my cut from 245 to 215 last year, but not for at least the last 6 months. They are a good test of how out of shape one is... I was panting and sweating. LoL

I've done a few crosscut style workouts with my bro, and they are pretty challenging/fun. For specific goals, I think crossfit/p90x are great despite the hate. They just don't coincide with my goals, so I don't do em.
But I will be doing BB conplexes/tabata style lifts for conditioning on some days.Transformation Journal:

I've always found BB complexes if done balls out a couple days a week make a noticable difference in terms of body composition for me. I was going to wait until my cut stalls but I think I want to try to lose quickly early in the contest and assess from there. I have a bit too much body fat to take it too slow, when compared to some of the others. There are several of you, including people in my log, whom if they finish the contest I am going to have to really bust my ass to beat so I better start early bringing out the big guns. :P

BW: 231.2 water gain, but I ate 1kg of bbq chicken with a lot of sodium last night so I know where it came from at least.
Workout
Box squat
405x2x2 focused on making good box contact this time. Felt like I had 3 reps in the tank on both sets. Time to add some weight.
365x3
Pause bench, 3 count
275x1 felt heavy my bench is not going to increase during this cut.
225x3x5
Pendlay Row
225x3x5 did them in true Pendlay row fasion, can build up to 275 with no English I think.
Barbell complexs, very short breaks today, wiped me out in 3 rounds, will gradually build up from here.
Push press -> front squat -> barbell row -> RDL
Farmer's walks, light tons of volume... superglue held the callouses on. Maybe 25-30 minutes of actually farmer's walking, not the rests between rounds.
Standing ab work
Workout was exhausting. Tonight will be less fat more carbs (no bbq chicken, just going to use plain chicken breasts and do them with curry sauce, red peppers and rice... unlike yesterday in which I lived off bbq chicken sammichs)... I'll need the carbs if I am going to hit it harder tomorrow.Last edited by JasonDB; 05-29-2012 at 03:48 AM.
