My iron levels are low. I can't take supplements, because every iron supplement I have ever tried made me very ill. What types of foods do I need to eat, and how much should I be consuming? Also, is that a problem for body building?
TIA!

Since fatigue is a symptom of low iron, I would say it would be a problem.
Red meat
Egg yolks
Dark, leafy greens (spinach, collards)
Dried fruit (prunes, raisins)
Iron-enriched cereals and grains (check the labels)
Mollusks (oysters, clams, scallops)
Turkey or chicken giblets
Beans, lentils, chick peas and soybeans
Liver
Artichokes
All great sources of iron...also, when I was pregnant, the prenatals always made me bad sick to my stomach, so I started taking Flintstones With Iron and never had a problem with mine throughout"Do not give away to others what you have not first given away at home." unknown

Thanks for those suggestions! I'm not much for fish, but meat is a definite go I like the idea of using children's multis instead. I didn't even know they still made the Flintstones vitamins! As for the prenatals, I can totally sympathize. The original ones my OB had for me were the horse sized pills, and there was no way I was going to swallow those. So I was given chewables instead. I felt like a baby, but it was better than nothing I guess.
