I've always been interested in technology. When you are young your "favorite" is usually the fastest whatever.

As I've gotten older and learned more (I guess), the whole "Top Gun" concept of using your planes strengths against the opponents weaknesses seems so common sense; but fighter pilots weren't taught for years and years. Some guys just knew it and others learned the hard way.

I read how Spitfire pilots had trouble with Zeros, as the Spitfire is a "angles" fighter against a 109, but an "energy" fighter against a Zero, so they fought them wrong (initially at least-they owned them later).
