    Whey Protein Causing Constipation???

    Hey guys,

I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with whey protein leading to constipation...i've had some serious trouble with my current situation and i've upped my fiber and that helped a little bit, but that wasn't the problem..i've been to the ER and had A CT scan and blood work and everything was fine there....i've almost narrowed my last two possibilities to the whey protein i am taking, or that MuscleTech Anabolic Halo...please if anyone has any insight i would greatly appreciate it!!

i had this problem for a long time and exactly what the post above says. i personally started drinking 500ml of full cream milk at midday and then again before bed and it's worked perfectly.

Most of the times its because you are drinking enough water or getting enough fiber.

    Yes, Yes, and Yes.

I would try a different product if you and your friend are having stomach problems. Whey protein shouldn't be the cause of gastrointestinal issues as well. Usually most proteins are packed with other fun supplements that may be the cause of your issues.

You might just have some lactose issues. I take a lot of whey/casein every day and if anything it makes me crap more.

Water and fiber are great but for some people it's not enough.

I have the same issue but started taking Orange Triad (multi with digestive support) and a probiotic and things have gotten much better.

Thanks for the advice...i've already drank about a gallon and a half of water today, it seems to be helping a little bit..maybe i wasn't drinking enough water...but now i've been checking out probiotics as well and i don't see where they could hurt at all...do you have any recommendations as fars as brands go with these???

Well i've drank about 2 gallons of water so far today and that def. seems to be working a little better...i just couldn't imagine how a person would need this much water in one day...lol...but i can make a habit of it!

I am using six star pro Elite b/c walmart is the only place i can buy any supplements and i just got back on my feet, and i don't even have a debit card for my bank account for about 15 more days or whenever it shows up in the mail....lol...but this is my first experience with protein powder at all...i've spent the past 13 month in prison doing this naturally with a 3/4" steel bar, milk crates and 25 lb. landscaping bricks! So this whole supplement thing is new....well this is all actually really new and confusing!

But thanks again everyone for the help! I will learn from all of this and hopefully not be a pain in the a$$ anymore!
